My ridding buddy just made the deal. He is trading his 08 HD Ultra in on a new Venture. The dealer had to get it from another dealer and it should be ready for pick Saturday. I sure hope he is happy with it.

I did something similar in 2007, after riding Harleys for more than a decade. ( I kept my HD tho)

 

 

Tell him that once its broke in, he should not be afraid to rev the engine...no short shifting!

Good point Brian, I told him he was going to have to turn the engine up more rpm before shifting. He is a good rider and I think he will adjust to it quickly.

Yeh, but does he have any cassettes? He'll have to adjust to that too, you know.

I may have to loan him a few of cassettes. LOL I think he plans to remove the CD changer and go with an Ipod.

After he breaks it in tell him to take 2nd to 50 and 3rd to 90 and he'll be grinning from ear to ear..

My opinion, break in an engine with some wide open throttle through low to mid/upper RPM's and you will seat the rings better.
