Relaxin Posted January 29, 2008 #1 Posted January 29, 2008 I've noticed people using HD mufflers as an alternative muffler. Question: Any comments on Rineharts....good?....bad?..... Feed back please. I like the way they sound on the RK. Thanx, Jerry
Eck Posted January 29, 2008 #2 Posted January 29, 2008 Your the only one I know of who is running rhinehearts as an alternate... However, if YOU like the sound, who cares what others think... That is what it's about.. You personalize YOUR bike to what YOU want.!!!
2WHEELSFORME Posted January 29, 2008 #3 Posted January 29, 2008 I've had Rinehearts before on a 99 Venture and now have drilled RKs on my 05. The Rinehearts sounded very nice and is much preferred over stock or RKs. The Bub chrome tips do tend to corrode but black tips can be purchased. I use the RKs now beause they were free and the sound is much better than stock.

However, if YOU like the sound, who cares what others think... That is what it's about.. You personalize YOUR bike to what YOU want.!!! Thanx Eck, I was beginning to think I had asked some kind of 'darkside' question. Currently I have drilled pipes off my wife's 07 RSTD. Sound isn't too bad... way better than stock but I wanted something with more bark when I hit the throttle. I also wanted an aftermarket exhaust preferrably for the RSV; but that is extremely limited. I also wanted something that was different. :scratchchin:Reading the forums I notice quiet a few have the 4-2-4 systems, bub sleepers, and the RK stock pipes drilled out; all of which I too like but if a majority of people have them then it's hard to be "personalized". The Rineharts are quiet pricey so I stepped down and ordered some V&H turned downs for the RK. The V&H have the removable baffles which give me some leeway on sound and (personally) I like the looks of the turn downs. It's hard choosing what you want with so many variables but like they say, "You bought it now make it yours!" Thanx, Jerry
Eck Posted January 29, 2008 #5 Posted January 29, 2008 Well I hope to be able to hear your pipes in the near furture. Im always looking for something different on my bike too...... Thanx Eck, I was beginning to think I had asked some kind of 'darkside' question... HAAA.........I noticed no one responded to your original post too...felt sorry for ya, and decided to post a reply.....HA....(only kidding..)??

Appreciate the input:thumbsup:
Guest tone100 Posted January 29, 2008 #9 Posted January 29, 2008 I bought a set of Wild Pig pipes off of Ebay. They were only about $170 and have a deep throaty sound to them.
