Guest Yamahawg Posted January 28, 2008 #1 Posted January 28, 2008 Here in East Tennessee it was in the upper 50's today. Really turned out to be a great day to ride a while. I had to bundle up a bit but it was well worth it to get out on 'The Beast' and enjoy the feeling of the open road. After several nights of tempertures in the teens today was a welcome relief and just getting out for a while makes all the difference in the world. Can wait for spring time, I'm ready to do some riding. :biker:Did any of you get to ride today????
Pecker Posted January 28, 2008 #3 Posted January 28, 2008 :rasberry::rasberry::moon::moon: Got out yesterday for a couple of hours. It felt sooooo good to blow the cobwebs out. Sorry to rub it in on all of ya'll in the great white north. If it makes you feel better, I enjoyed the ride for all those snowed in.
Freebird Posted January 28, 2008 #4 Posted January 28, 2008 ahhh....I'm thinking that you guys are being pretty darn cruel. Heck...at LEAST post some pictures so we can ride vicariously through you.
eagleeye Posted January 28, 2008 #5 Posted January 28, 2008 We had a beautiful sunny day here, in fact I had a guy email me about my venture that's for sale. So I stood out in the driveway and drank some beer and thought about how great it would be to be out riding today. Little too much snow and salt here. Close, but no cigar. Steve
gibvel Posted January 28, 2008 #6 Posted January 28, 2008 Son in law and I went out for a couple hours yesterday up 34 towards Estes Park. Good thing too, the mountains are getting pounded today and we're supposed to get it sooner or later as well.
DragonRider Posted January 28, 2008 #7 Posted January 28, 2008 I ride just about every day......back and forth to work, when its raining I cage it.....that's a drag..:stirthepot:
Guest Popeye Posted January 28, 2008 #8 Posted January 28, 2008 Had to work today & new scoot isn't insured yet. It's 55* right now, almost 5pm. However, WE had to get gas in empty tank for cold months ahead, but somehow, turned the wrong way out of the gas station. Thought it would be a good idea to lube the engine/trans, etc., for its long wait. Saw a LOT of scoots out there in that hour.
1rooster Posted January 28, 2008 #9 Posted January 28, 2008 Yes.........Yes...........Yes...........but only 300 miles yesterday and about 50 after work today.
Roadhand Posted January 28, 2008 #10 Posted January 28, 2008 Riding was great down here Sunday. I got 200+ with 2up and SHE WAS THE ONE WHO WANTED TO GO! What a deal! 70+..........great weather for late January
WIKD Posted January 29, 2008 #11 Posted January 29, 2008 Yup. About the same temp here as Tenn. Only put on about 50 miles but I ride almost every day so 50 ain't bad.
Missionary Rider Posted January 29, 2008 #12 Posted January 29, 2008 Commuted today with a 40 mile sidetrip thrown in. Since you asked for photos, Saturday we did a PGR ride - Photos below with my 06 RSMV in the background and another with me in the blue and black jacket (extreme right side of photo).
Freebird Posted January 29, 2008 #13 Posted January 29, 2008 Now that's better. Now I can dream of warmer days soon....well.....not TOO far away.
Thom Posted January 29, 2008 #14 Posted January 29, 2008 it was too cold this morin but still road today , stopped by wally world on the way home , needed better , warmer gloves , spent 5 bucks :rotfl::rotfl:
Namron Posted January 29, 2008 #15 Posted January 29, 2008 Hell, was 46 here today, in Calgary, Alberta when I whent out to shovel the snow for two hours. Only thing it was below zero, with a 40 MPH wind:confused24::confused24::snow2: Norm
Gene-b Posted January 29, 2008 #16 Posted January 29, 2008 Not today, But YESterday I did, 3 Ventures and a couple of token Harley's. 100 miles, some lunch and a lot of fun!
Guest Yamahawg Posted January 29, 2008 #17 Posted January 29, 2008 Sorry all, I didnt take any pics but will keep that in mind the next time I get out. Did notice one thing today though.. When I filled up with Gas my milage had improved some from last tank... Packed all I could in the tank and it figured out to be 45mpg.... Maybe there is something to improved milage during cold weather.
nkbjones Posted January 29, 2008 #18 Posted January 29, 2008 I got out Sat for a caouple of hours to ride with Baxter. Though short I took my daughter for a ride this evening. We needed to test out how she fit in with the new backrest and armrests. She can finally sit back and relax on the bike instead of being belted to me.
silvercrew Posted January 29, 2008 #19 Posted January 29, 2008 Not today it was -31 without the wind today and about -46 with the wind. I wish I could take the bike out maybe in the spring unless the lotto comes in.
Ponch Posted January 29, 2008 #20 Posted January 29, 2008 Told Lil Bit I was going around the block just to top off the battery. Came back two hours later. Got back after dark and didn't have to dodge any deer for a change. It was great!
Jerry W Posted January 29, 2008 #21 Posted January 29, 2008 I didn't get the bike out today, but rode about 200 miles yesterday. Life is good.
Guest Yamahawg Posted January 29, 2008 #22 Posted January 29, 2008 I've been meaning to ask all you people that live in the cold places... What do they use for Antifreeze where you live? All these negative temps seem unbearable for me.
Animal Posted January 29, 2008 #23 Posted January 29, 2008 No, but gonna be 60 today and we plan to be out there...
scooter45 Posted February 17, 2011 #24 Posted February 17, 2011 I rode the bike today in Minnesota 45%
Flyinfool Posted February 17, 2011 #25 Posted February 17, 2011 Well I will make it a point to go out and at least look at the bike tonight. We are likely to break the high temp record of 55° today.
