kbran Posted November 16, 2012 #1 Posted November 16, 2012 Made a settelment with Progressive insurance on the 91 Venture yesterday. Couldn't believe how easy it went. They used the Nada and gave me $5300 for the bike and acessories. Even paid the sales tax and registration fees. Then they paid for two jackets and helmet. The total was $5984 after my $250 deductible. I took it and let them have the bike. They will pick it up tommorow. Can't complain about that.
GaryZ Posted November 16, 2012 #2 Posted November 16, 2012 Frankly, I'm shocked they paid so much on a 1991 motorcycle. I couldn't get Farmer's to pay what my '95 pick-up was actually worth . . . Good for you!
cecdoo Posted November 16, 2012 #3 Posted November 16, 2012 Think I would be pretty happy with that deal:clap2: Craig

Geico paid for my bike and Helmet but no saftey clothes like jackets etc. Are they the ones that offers health insurance for $100 for just bike related injuries? Two JACKETS? Must have been a cold morning? LOL Hows those ribs coming along? Edited November 16, 2012 by CaptainJoe
bongobobny Posted November 16, 2012 #5 Posted November 16, 2012 Wow!! Good deal!! Nice insurance company! That settlement will make a nice down payment on a new Victory...
Evan Posted November 16, 2012 #6 Posted November 16, 2012 Congratulations Kenny, and it is good to hear a posative insurance story.
ediddy Posted November 16, 2012 #7 Posted November 16, 2012 GEICO doesn't pay for safety clothing. They have to save money some where to pay for all that advertising.

mm482 Posted November 16, 2012 #9 Posted November 16, 2012 Good deal, that sure sounds like they were fair. I have to say insurance companies have been more than fair to me. Earl
BradT Posted November 17, 2012 #10 Posted November 17, 2012 Can't complain about that. Not at all. Few sore ribs for a couple weeks is worth that. :rotf:Probably worried you would go after them for aches and pains. They were possibly just as happy as you to sign this one away. Up here your rates would double or triple for a couple years so they get there money back. Glad you wern't hurt too much Brad

kbran Posted November 17, 2012 Author #12 Posted November 17, 2012 Oh, and they picked up the bike this morning, the wrecker service said he never seen them work this fast.
Phoneman1981 Posted November 17, 2012 #14 Posted November 17, 2012 Good to hear a positive story. I have been on both sides of the Insurance thing. I was really pleased with Farm Bureau on the fire claim on my bike a couple of years ago.
