crowrod Posted November 16, 2012 #1 Posted November 16, 2012 what would happen, if you put a longer rear shock on, say 12 inches instead of he normal 10?. Will it raise the seat height?. And if you changed the links could you lower it back down?
djh3 Posted November 16, 2012 #2 Posted November 16, 2012 In best mythbusters terms, I would say plasable.
karlfitt Posted November 17, 2012 #4 Posted November 17, 2012 Would change ratios on the linkage. What is the new ratio and what spring rate would you need??
friesman Posted November 17, 2012 #5 Posted November 17, 2012 what issues are you having that makes you want a longer shock?
crowrod Posted November 17, 2012 Author #6 Posted November 17, 2012 alternative to stock, cheaper prices, more choices and availability. I know by changing the center to center length on the links changes the height up or down wondering if some thing could safely be done.
bongobobny Posted November 17, 2012 #7 Posted November 17, 2012 I heard a rumor that someone is going to try to put a 1st gen shock in a 2nd gen, but won't know anything about it for quite a while yet...
wrenchrob Posted November 19, 2012 #8 Posted November 19, 2012 I heard a rumor that someone is going to try to put a 1st gen shock in a 2nd gen, but won't know anything about it for quite a while yet... I heard that rumor also. I hope whoever it is will post some pics...
