dacheedah Posted October 24, 2012 #1 Posted October 24, 2012 I have ridden in a ton of charity rides, I always keep the same safe distance that I do while riding in traffic, because thats exactly what you are doing.http://www.tmz.com/2012/10/23/jay-leno-motorcycle-crash-accident/
rickardracing Posted October 24, 2012 #2 Posted October 24, 2012 Looks like the guy on the far right side went around the car on the shoulder. He almost sideswiped the other bike went he passed that car on the left side. What a tool.
chabicheka Posted October 24, 2012 #3 Posted October 24, 2012 Yup...some reckless riding was apparent in that video. I suppose they all wanted to be close to Jay....
Sliver Posted October 24, 2012 #4 Posted October 24, 2012 never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups
Panjandrum Posted October 24, 2012 #6 Posted October 24, 2012 And that is why I no longer do charity rides!
Yamamike Posted October 24, 2012 #7 Posted October 24, 2012 I have ridden in a ton of charity rides, I always keep the same safe distance that I do while riding in traffic, because thats exactly what you are doing.http://www.tmz.com/2012/10/23/jay-leno-motorcycle-crash-accident/ I see a few folks riding unsafely in that video...there was bound to be an accident the way some of these people were riding.IMHO!
loehring Posted October 24, 2012 #8 Posted October 24, 2012 I have done many charity rides and litteraly hundreds of others including large funeral escorts but I have never been in something as apparently disorganized as that. Where was the single lane stagger? These idiots were weaving between 3 and 4 lanes. Is this isolated or is this something that's common in other parts of the country? That's a serious question. My rides have all been in the SE and this was in California. I know the laws are different but common sense shouldn't be.
