BEER30 Posted October 23, 2012 #26 Posted October 23, 2012 Come on guy! What ya thinking? I can recall playing hooky from work or school for less good reasons for that! (except for a couple of million reason here recently) However, it could have been temporary insanity. People do have bad days now and then...................... BEER30
Freebird Posted October 23, 2012 #27 Posted October 23, 2012 We ride the bike quite frequently. As a matter of fact, we just got back from a 2 week 4000 miler a few weeks back. However, when she asked me like she did this morning.......well.........DANG IT, I'M STUPID!!! I'm not ready to turn in my man card yet. I will recover!!!! Oh no...you don't get off that easy. You have stepped across the line. You do NOT get to decide if you are ready to turn in your "man card". WE will make THAT decision. Let's just say that you are now on double secret probation. We'll be getting back to you.

Freebird, I'm hoping someone will stand up in the man card meetings you guys will be having and show me mercy. For obvious reasons I need to keep my card.
mini-muffin Posted October 23, 2012 #29 Posted October 23, 2012 Wow dude you messed up and these guys are not gonna let you forget it. Hope you're wife is more forgiving then these guys. :whistling:Of course ya did screw up and you should have taken the day off, but I have no control over what they do at the meeting about your man card. Margaret
Wrench Posted October 23, 2012 #30 Posted October 23, 2012 I'm not gonna beat up on you, looks like everybody else has done a pretty decent job of that. The only thing I've got is that we never need to take for granted that our wives will be able to ride whenever we are. It's been almost 5 years since mine has ridden with me, and I MISS her on the back. Hopefully she's heading back towards the bike though, she's getting her pain pump implant next week, and the Doc is very optimistic that he'll get her back on the bike next year. Good luck in that doghouse though!!

Maybe the guys will have mercy on me and recognize that I'm already in the doghouse and taking my card could be the final blow.
pmelah Posted October 23, 2012 #32 Posted October 23, 2012 Maybe the guys will have mercy on me and recognize that I'm already in the doghouse and taking my card could be the final blow. i say he should take his wife out to a fancy place to eat (her choice) on the bike for the next 3 weekends on the bike as punishment for getting put on man card double secret probation :confused24 good luck with the rest of the guys BigLenny personally i think you have been beaten up enough :rotf:
JohnT Posted October 23, 2012 #33 Posted October 23, 2012 I ran this scenario by my wife and her reply? She blinked, furrowed her brow a bit, and "wow, really?" She's the sweetest, most responsible person I know, and she doesn't get it. My reply would have been, "Get dressed, I'll call for both of us."
