irbk Posted October 14, 2012 #1 Posted October 14, 2012 Next weekend I'm puttin the bike away for her long winter's nap. It's going to be staying in a pole bar at my Uncle's place. I figure it would probably be a good idea to invest in a cover to keep dust off of it. I've got the 1300 RSTD, not sure if that's going to require a "Large" bike cover or an "XL" bike cover. Suggestions? Thanks
irbk Posted October 14, 2012 Author #2 Posted October 14, 2012 called cruisercustomizing.com and they suggested this http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/covermax-standard-motorcyle-covers-xl-touring-bike/part/TR-10-7512 I'll let you all know how it works.
eusa1 Posted October 15, 2012 #3 Posted October 15, 2012 Make sure it is a vented cover, and not made of plastic! They will trap moisture under the cover and everything will rust or pit! Save your money if it's inside and cover it with a few old sheets or blanket and put some bounce dryer sheets all over and inside it to keep the mice away.

Do what I do and ride it all winter...........then the problem is solved vv:thumbsup2:
Brenda H Posted October 30, 2012 #5 Posted October 30, 2012 Where he lives that could pose a problem. Snow, ice, and bikes don't mix. Not unless he wants to confirm he's certifiable!! Do what I do and ride it all winter...........then the problem is solved vv:thumbsup2:
Gary N. Posted October 30, 2012 #6 Posted October 30, 2012 I suggest that you buy a piece of rubber backed carpet or a cheap tarp to park it on. Especially if the pole barn has a dirt floor but even if it is concrete it will help to keep the dampness off the bike if the building is not heated.
