Freebird Posted October 14, 2012 #1 Posted October 14, 2012 Folks, I got a message from a member here telling me that his subscription is about to expire. That concerns me because his membership is good through April of next year and the automated reminders here do NOT go out until a few days before your memberships expire. Has anybody else here gotten such an email way ahead of your expiration date? If so, please let me know. It causes me to wonder if somebody is attempting to scam our members.
Mel Posted October 14, 2012 #2 Posted October 14, 2012 (edited) If'n I don't remember my expiry date (therefor my renewal date), is there a way to find it here on the site? It may be obvious, but it's easier to ask the boss. Asking also lets the boss puff up his chest because he is so-o-o-o smart. edit message---Hey, I found it! Right at the bottom of my "STATISTICS". That was pretty easy. Oh yeh, no expiration notice, thought I was getting one but it was a notice about my classified ad about to expire. Edited October 14, 2012 by Mel more to say
Freebird Posted October 14, 2012 Author #3 Posted October 14, 2012 You can also go to the UserCP. Scroll down to where it says "Paid Subscriptions" in the left menu. Click on that and it will show your start date and the expiration date.
SilvrT Posted October 14, 2012 #4 Posted October 14, 2012 --Hey, I found it! Right at the bottom of my "STATISTICS". That's interesting.... I couldn't find mine there. Where I did find it was in User CP | Miscellaneous (side bar on left at the bottom) | Paid Subscriptions.

Drifter02 Posted October 14, 2012 #6 Posted October 14, 2012 Same here, don't recall expiry date, but got the reminder this week, renewed today anyhow. It is a mere $12.00, sure if it is wrong, the Powers that Be will get it corrected.
Trader Posted October 14, 2012 #7 Posted October 14, 2012 his membership is good through April of next year and the automated reminders here do NOT go out until a few days before your memberships expire. At first I thought maybe there was just confusion as to which is which...month/day/year or day/month year 4/10/12 or 10/04/12...but that doesn't explain why an email would go out early.
bkuhr Posted October 14, 2012 #8 Posted October 14, 2012 No Email, but after looking, my subscription expires in 3 DAYS! Renewed and all is well.
kevin-vic-b.c. Posted October 14, 2012 #9 Posted October 14, 2012 I got my email last month, I had know idea when my expirey date is or was nor did it matter as long as the paypal goes to Freebird. :mo money: :mo money: :mo money: Keep in mind that is Canadian money being tossed and the smallest green bills we have are $20s
playboy Posted October 14, 2012 #10 Posted October 14, 2012 Never got the reminder. But I got it paid late after Boomer CPO tried scamming me into paying at the DQ so check with him he might have a stray pygmy lurking
saddlebum Posted October 16, 2012 #11 Posted October 16, 2012 I decided to check mine. The first thing I noticed is I have been a member since sept 2006 -------How in the world did I manage to put up with this crazy bunch of lunitics for over six years

Snaggletooth Posted October 16, 2012 #15 Posted October 16, 2012 Dang give a guy the best 6 yrs of your life and it's not good enough. Typical guy. :rotf::crackup: Margaret Ouch!!! Mel Posted October 16, 2012 #16 Posted October 16, 2012 The boss is right AGAIN, as he should be. When I go to my profile, statistics, join date, what it shows is my join date, imagine that! Using the user CP and looking at PAID SUBSCRIPTION, subscription date is different, shows when last paid and when due, has nuthin to do with join date.

So... if I pay my subscription early.... does the year start from that date or just carries on from my anniversary date? For example... if I pay 6 months early.... do I lose 6 months of paid time?

Especially now that he has a new bike to fix up!
Freebird Posted October 16, 2012 Author #19 Posted October 16, 2012 No, you would not lose the 6 months. It would automatically add a year to the expiration date.
Marcarl Posted October 17, 2012 #20 Posted October 17, 2012 No, you would not lose the 6 months. It would automatically add a year to the expiration date. You could have told him that it's now only good for 6 months and then added the leftovers to my all new bike fund.
nbowersock Posted October 20, 2012 #21 Posted October 20, 2012 Got mine right on time, 2 days ago for an October 21st expiration date. BTW, paid! Thanks for a great site.
Freebird Posted October 20, 2012 Author #22 Posted October 20, 2012 I think everything is OK. After further discussion, it appears that the member in question got a message that a classified ad was about to expire and mistook it for a notice that his membership was about to expire.

Don, I just received an email from you today saying my subscription would be expiring on May 7. I paid my $12.00 renewal on April 10, Order #284. Not sure what's up with that. Doug
