GolfVenture Posted October 12, 2012 #1 Posted October 12, 2012 What is the best battery for my 89 VR and besided doing mail order can I purchase it locally in Washington State.
bongobobny Posted October 12, 2012 #4 Posted October 12, 2012 DEKA! It is also available from a couple of auto stores under their own brand. There was a thread about this about a year ago, hopefully someone will remember the details. The Deka is the one skydoc sells at a very good price delivered to you. He deals directly with the manufacturer.
twigg Posted October 12, 2012 #5 Posted October 12, 2012 For a modestly priced battery ... As well as the traditional lead/acid batteries, Walmart also stocks a range of AGM batteries for motorcycles. The regular batteries are about $40, and the AGM ones maybe $70. At that price they are a decent buy. Make sure your battery charger has a circuit for these batteries, the regular chargers can damage them because they supply too high a voltage.

Brian, let's talk about the battery second. First...how is the body healing? How did the operation on the hand go? How is the collarbone, and the ribs? Are you doing okay? Now, the battery. Are you able to get this on your own, or would you like an escort, to drive you around like Ms. Daisy ?

How is the collarbone, and the ribs? Are you doing okay? Now, the battery. Are you able to get this on your own, or would you like an escort, to drive you around like Ms. Daisy ? The collar bone, ribs, lungs (all right side are doing fine). On 1 Oct , I had my surgury on my left had then yesterday I had my follow up surgury, where the sitches came all. a few of the 8 wrist bones were dug out of the hand and puzzled back together. 5 pins are in place to keep the bones in place as it heals and as I go through theropy. Thanks for offering to come up and help. My wife can take me around to do small errons. Thanks again for looking out for me.
Miles Posted October 12, 2012 #9 Posted October 12, 2012 Thanks again for looking out for me. Brian, my # 1 concern is that you are back on the road and able to ride your bike to the International Rally next year. I promised the forum that I would get 6 people from our state to ride out to the IR. See...I am selfish, just wanting to keep my promise. Here's looking out for you, kid.
Snaggletooth Posted October 12, 2012 #10 Posted October 12, 2012 DEKA AGM. Top end stuff. These guys are great to deal with but there are other sources also. http://www.bohannonbattery.com/html/deka/etx18l.html Mike

DragonRider Posted October 13, 2012 #12 Posted October 13, 2012 I got my AGM battery from Auto Zone for $89.00 plus tax. Very powerful batter, no more problem with hot starts.
