Flyinfool Posted September 26, 2012 #1 Posted September 26, 2012 I just can't figure this one out. My bike is going thru gas like crazy. There are no puddles or even spots on the ground. There is no gas in the oil. There are no wet spots on anything. I live 20.2 miles from where I work. I had to stop for gas twice on the way home yesterday. Temps were in the 60s with the sun shining. I get off work at 4:30pm. It was almost 11:00pm when I finally made it home. The leaves are sure getting pretty this time of year. I just can't figure out where all the gas went.......
Trader Posted September 26, 2012 #2 Posted September 26, 2012 Bummer! It sounds like the gas might be going out the exhaust. I know there is a cure for that but it involves liberal amounts of solidified H20 for an extended period of time. Lets hope it's not needed to soon. In the mean time I would recommend a couple ounces of sea foam once in a while and extended road trips to monitor the situation.
Flyinfool Posted September 26, 2012 Author #3 Posted September 26, 2012 Yes I think you are right. The solid form of H2O is not usually the issue by its self, it is the crystallized form that can then turn into the solid form that is the real issue. There have been reports of crystallized oxidane coatings in Wisconsin already this fall. If this trend continues I think the leak may stop soon. A liberal application of crystallized dihydrogen monoxide may also stop the leak.
bendtdj Posted September 26, 2012 #4 Posted September 26, 2012 Crystallized dihydrogen monoxide needs to be banned!!! That compound is just too dangerous to be allowed to exist in our world! Dave
muffinman Posted September 26, 2012 #5 Posted September 26, 2012 You might want to try some Star tron its an ethenol treatment that is highly recomended down here I use it all the time in everything with a motor. You might also want to look at the carb overflows while its running to see if its poring out while you are riding. Jeff
icebrrg3rd Posted September 26, 2012 #6 Posted September 26, 2012 Crystallized dihydrogen monoxide needs to be banned!!! That compound is just too dangerous to be allowed to exist in our world! Dave YES! It has been known to shut down whole cities! Render rescue squads immobile! In mass quantities it causes car accidents, heart attacks, and even baby booms! Extremely hazardous material! BAN IT! BAN IT! BAN IT! Oh, and my gas seems to be leaking too, Jeff. I went thru 4 tanks Sat alone! -Andrew
Marcarl Posted September 26, 2012 #7 Posted September 26, 2012 How many tanks are you filling, just yours, or is there an auxiliary tank somewhere else that is being supplied by your undisclosed generosity.
Venturous Randy Posted September 26, 2012 #8 Posted September 26, 2012 It sounds like you guys are using a lot of gas and having a lot of fun. My last three tanks averaged 45-46 miles per gallon. RandyA
Trader Posted September 26, 2012 #9 Posted September 26, 2012 I love it when my gas mileage is so poor that I use 2 or 3 tanks a day! Tree's are looking good....probably be packing it away in a month or so.
