Radio Problem with Headset and Helmet

Had hooked up headset to go for a ride. Once hooking plug in from Helmet to the bike we recevied a very high pitch squeal. The radio works just fine without the helmet being pluged into bike. It does it with two sperate helmets and front seat and back seat get the same noise.

 

Anyone have any ideas?

Check your connections, cables for pinches and water in one of the plugs. Also if you have the IC volume up too high it can happen too.

Sounds like feedback. Try turning down the IC volume.

Yup I get same thing when the wife plugs in or disconnects and I forget to turn down intercom

I had that after riding in the rain, plugs in fairing got wet. Pull apart, dry and put some dilithium grease around female boot and re-mate. Since I have done this I have ridden in a monsoon with no issues.

Thanks for the help it was the IC volume set on 17 how it got there I don't know, but thats what it was. I turned it to about 12 and I think it is going to work just fine.

 

Can't wait to install my Mike Mute @ Kregger Doodles Maintenance day next year.
