onerider Posted January 24, 2008 #1 Posted January 24, 2008 Does anyone know if the T-Bag Dekker Supreme, made for Harley truck racks will fit on Yamaha's Venture trunk rack ? If not, what other large luggage bags are available to sit on top of the RSV truck rack. Many thanks, Robert
Guest tx2sturgis Posted January 24, 2008 #2 Posted January 24, 2008 Yamaha sells one I believe, you can see it online at the yamaha website, or have your dealer order it. Also, if you go to ebay and type in the search term "venture trunk bag" it will show several results. I have not tried a T-bag or Dekker trunk bag on the Venture, since the rack is smaller, so I cant help you with that. However, I do use a T-BAG 'Dresser' type bag, which sits on the rear seat...it fits both my Harley ElectraGlide, and my RSV. It is a very handy item when traveling, but of course, its for traveling solo. Hope this helps! http://www.tbags.com/images/enlarge/dresser_03.gif
onerider Posted January 25, 2008 Author #3 Posted January 25, 2008 Brian, yes thanks for the help. I don't believe Yammy makes a large bag to go on the RSV trunk rack. Their's all seem to be for the sissy bar racks & I think sit too high on a truck. But the other bag you show on your Harley rack is something more like I'm looking for. Thanks again, Robert
Squidley Posted January 25, 2008 #4 Posted January 25, 2008 Robert, Many of us use the Kuryakyn trunk bag on the top of the trunk rack http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=honda&ci=2811 Yamaha also makes one but it's the same thing as the Kuryakyn and costs more
onerider Posted January 25, 2008 Author #5 Posted January 25, 2008 Squidley, thanks for the advise. That is a nice looking trunk bag. Robert
rosebud Posted January 25, 2008 #6 Posted January 25, 2008 This is the trunk bag that we picked up. It has some nice straps that work great on the bars of the trunk rack. http://www.riverroadgear.com/rrweb2.nsf/Products/B1DDCB900080C366862570690073462C?opendocument

stardbog Posted January 25, 2008 #8 Posted January 25, 2008 I use one of those http://www.tourmaster.com/xcart/product.php?productid=118&cat=17 on Trunk Rack. dont need trailer jet... enough stuff for me and Lina for week. I usualy Ship home my laundry on the end of trip so I can travel Lighter.
onerider Posted January 26, 2008 Author #9 Posted January 26, 2008 Thanks everyone for all the input. There are some nice looking pieces of trunk luggage being used. Decided to go with Yamaha's Cordura trunk rack bag & expandable tank bag. That should give us all the capacity two of us will ever need - (Ya right!!) Robert
Ferrantelli Posted January 26, 2008 #10 Posted January 26, 2008 Isn't anyone worried about the weight on the rack plus the trunk and contents being to much for the mounting brakets and lids.
