Orrin Posted January 24, 2008 #1 Posted January 24, 2008 I just did some searching and did find the info I was looking for...that does not mean that it is not here. I want to install in one of my saddle bags an integrated sound system. I want speakers and mic on my helmet and controls on the handle bars. I would like to have a CB, am/fm/wb radio also. I deal would be to have the helmet equipment be Blue Tooth but could live with a cord and jack. I would rather not put speakers on my RSTD. Any recommendations gratefully appreciated. I have to get helmet and all the equipment. Thanks
Freebird Posted January 24, 2008 #2 Posted January 24, 2008 Why not go with the J&M unit. All in one handlebar mounted package. They make a solo version and also a rider/passenger version with intercom. Then you can just plug an MP3 or whatever into it. http://www.sierra-mc.com/products.asp?cat=243
Orrin Posted January 24, 2008 Author #3 Posted January 24, 2008 Don, I just found that, hope I can add am/fm radio to it, that would be cool. Thanks for the advice. I am going to contact them.
RedRider Posted January 24, 2008 #4 Posted January 24, 2008 Get a Venture - Gen2 of course. My father used the J&M unit for a CB and AM/FM. It also has an aux input for a MP3 player. I don't know what model. Works well. RR
RSV Angel Posted January 24, 2008 #5 Posted January 24, 2008 Mabe contact Hugbare. He put a unit on his wife's bike that had it all including a cb so they could talk bike to bike.I don't remember what brand it was but he said it did a good job.
silvercrew Posted April 12, 2008 #6 Posted April 12, 2008 I am installing a j&m intergratr and I am installing it in my saddle bag. I haven't got it all done yet. Pm me or keep a eye out for a new post in the next few months on how it works when I get it done.
Orrin Posted April 13, 2008 Author #7 Posted April 13, 2008 Just got done installing the J&M cb on my RSTD. Everything went well, but looming the wires took forever. Had to remove the fuel tank, seat and dash. Mounted the antenna on the back of the tour pack. Not quite done yet, but will take and post pictures later. This should take a feed from an am/fm radio. Now I need to look for one that is handle bar mounted.
Orrin Posted April 15, 2008 Author #8 Posted April 15, 2008 Here are the pic's of what I have done so far. Also a pic of my new back rest cover. The back rest is embroidered in to the cover.
juggler Posted April 15, 2008 #9 Posted April 15, 2008 Well, heck you've gone that far to add the trunk. Just get the Venture sound systems from a wrecked bike and install it on yours.
