Mike G in SC Posted September 12, 2012 #1 Posted September 12, 2012 I just got back from a STAR Touring BBQ in Branson, MO. 2500 miles, 900 of it MO & AR twists and whoop-t-doos. (rode straight home,950 miles yesterday,,, whew. About 18 hours.) So, my stock size Venom is now shot (now at 22k) I called my dealer to get another and was told they can't get it anymore. I looked on Bike Bandit and saw it only on CLOSEOUT for stock size. Guess that narrows the field again on stock size 150/80-16. No Avon, no Michilen Commander II. So I am having them put on a Dunlop E-3 Friday. Mike G in SC
rickardracing Posted September 12, 2012 #2 Posted September 12, 2012 If you have never had the E3's, your gonna like them.
djh3 Posted September 12, 2012 #3 Posted September 12, 2012 Motorcycle super store still shows them as well as Dennis Kirk. Even if they are on close out you can get them and still have a couple years to debate what to go with next.
RandyR Posted September 12, 2012 #4 Posted September 12, 2012 New front tires on my RSTD and RSV less than 5,000 miles each. I'm good for a while. I'm happy with the Dunlop on the RSV so far. And I didn't have any problems when I ran Metzlers.
Mike G in SC Posted September 12, 2012 Author #5 Posted September 12, 2012 Dion, I thought about doing that, but I've got a good relationship with my dealer and been thinking about the E3 anyhow. They also discount install on tires they sell. I do have the Michelin Commander 2 on the rear of my Venture and RSTD. When the RSTD front gets worn, might try the samller Commander 2 on it. (but for mostly 2-up lowereed Venture, want to stay with the stock size.) djh3 said: Motorcycle super store still shows them as well as Dennis Kirk. djh3 Posted September 13, 2012 #6 Posted September 13, 2012 I can respect that. Its hard to find a good dealer that takes care of customers. If they give you a deal on mounting etc thats cool.
Sleeperhawk Posted September 13, 2012 #7 Posted September 13, 2012 Avon still has the front tire listed. So I am not sure why our dealer can't get them.
