Bubber Posted September 10, 2012 #1 Posted September 10, 2012 I was looking for someone that has the radio controller on the handlebars for a 2nd Gen. Mine seems to acting up and not all the script shows on the screen so I just want to see if the controller is at fault or the nut behind the wheel. Any body got one to lend me to try out and potentially sell? Bubber Bike is 2006 Midnight Venture
BoomerCPO Posted September 10, 2012 #2 Posted September 10, 2012 Bubber if I had one it would be on it's way to you. I still appreciate that spare fuel pump you sent me several years ago..... Boomer.....who sez make sure ya don't have any pygmies messing with yer scoot:whistling:....and good luck fixing this problem!
uechi kid Posted September 10, 2012 #3 Posted September 10, 2012 I guess I should ask the obvious, did you check and clean all of the connectors inside of the fairing. Mine was acting up, and after cleaning all of the connections and adding dielectric grease, it worked great.
Bubber Posted September 10, 2012 Author #4 Posted September 10, 2012 UH Duh..... let me go to the garage and get back to you.:rotf: I may need a little more time to investigate. Note to self: check the obvious first!
Bubber Posted September 10, 2012 Author #5 Posted September 10, 2012 When I first read the postings about applying grease I remember doing it then, just took a while to remember.
djh3 Posted September 11, 2012 #7 Posted September 11, 2012 Come on man did ya space it out or not? For S&G did ya shake and wiggle connections? How about splitting the controller open and looking for some dampness, or possibly a broken wire. Does it (screen) come on at all or certian patter on when it craps out?
bongobobny Posted September 11, 2012 #8 Posted September 11, 2012 Yah Steve, spray the crap out of the connectors with contact cleaner and reseat them a few times then treat with dielectric grease. A little goes a long way and it is to seal the overall connector from moisture. Grease itself is NOT a conductor...
dacheedah Posted September 11, 2012 #9 Posted September 11, 2012 check those square white connectors too
bongobobny Posted September 11, 2012 #10 Posted September 11, 2012 ^^^^^ As a matter of fact now that you mention it I found corrosion on one of those pins, and mine is fairly new...
