Will the stator from a 99 or 03 Royale Star Venture fit a 90 Venture Royale? What years and models are interchangeable with the 90?

Actually it wouldn't surprise me, they look pretty much the same, but the rubber plugs are different...

Looking at parts fiche, the 1st gen number for the stator changed in 1990. It also changed slightly in 1986, they only changed a rev #, not the main designator that year.

 

Somewhat surprisingly, the stator housing # is the same for all 1st gens. I would have thought it changed when Yamaha went to the single pickup coil.

 

2nd gen also has a new part number for stator in 99.

 

I have an extra stator from my 1200 motor, that I replaced when I had an opportunity to get a high output stator for it. It was working fine when pulled it.
