Peder_y2k Posted September 9, 2012 #1 Posted September 9, 2012 What's the function of the lower cowl/scoop/chin-spoiler on the XVZ1300? Is it just for looks, or does it have a real function? -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA '83,88 Venture
mbrood Posted September 9, 2012 #2 Posted September 9, 2012 I think it's primarily a rock deflector for the engine... too low to redirect air to the radiator or up to the cylinders.
friesman Posted September 9, 2012 #3 Posted September 9, 2012 It was an option on the earlier models. My 85 doesnt have all that and I like it that way, it doesnt get in my way when changing oil. Brian
frankd Posted September 9, 2012 #4 Posted September 9, 2012 I run mine in the summer without it, and use it in cooler weather. It does block some of the air going over your feet. Frank D.
