Evan Posted September 8, 2012 #1 Posted September 8, 2012 I recently mounted this led brake/tail/signal light bar that was on sale here in Ontario at Princes Auto for about $20. I liked this bar as it could be separated from the frame that it came in so it fits neatly under my trunk. Was able to avoid drilling holes by using plastic ties around my trunk rack. Mounted the light bar immediately below the trunk, so my helmet holders including locks are still functional. Used wood shims visible in the picture but not visible from behind to keep the light bar hanging straight. Also, I wired the lights by just plugging into my trailer wiring plug.
Trader Posted September 9, 2012 #4 Posted September 9, 2012 Here's what I did.....thanks to Golf&Venture. I put LED lights behind the reflector on the trunk box and turned it into a bigger brake light. I have the rear running lights so I thought I needed better visability for the brakes. Well....the flash was so bright on the reflector portion that it overrode the LEDS! the Brake LED's are only on the centre portion of the trunk reflector. Works great in the daylight though and it is very visable...just doesn't take a good picture. I''ll try from an angle and repost later
dogman Posted September 9, 2012 #5 Posted September 9, 2012 Evan, looks good. Is it low enough to cover your plate when going on the 407? Sorry, I think of those things being a cheap as_!
djh3 Posted September 9, 2012 #6 Posted September 9, 2012 I did something simular. Mounted them on a piece of 1" angle alum. Polished it all up shinny.
