midnightrider1300 Posted September 3, 2012 #1 Posted September 3, 2012 hooked up... the only thing is my hazard lights don't work now ??? seems I saw a thread on the subject but can't find it.... hopefully i wont ever need'em ...
XV1100SE Posted September 3, 2012 #2 Posted September 3, 2012 If you used a converter and not an isolator (isolator connects to the battery, converter doesn't) then the hazard lights won't work unless the engine is running. Think it has to do with how much power it takes to turn the lights on (remember, without an isolator connected to the battery, the connections have to split the power to all the lights). Even without a trailer, the bike's hazard lights will not work unless the ignition key is turned on (engine doesn't have to be running but key must be all the way on - when you would normally hit the starter button).

XV1100SE Posted September 3, 2012 #4 Posted September 3, 2012 I had posted the same thing in the other thread. Over the Winter I'll be replacing the converter with an isolator. If for no other reason than being able to have the trailer 4-ways working if the engine won't.

I looked for an isolator at the parts place today but they didn't have one.... if they did I didn't know what it was ... lol
