I know its not a Venture but I always wanted a Gold Wing, So is it safe to come to the meets with the blue marble? So to let everybody know the blue marble will be in Eureka Springs in Sept. buddy
rsstar Posted January 22, 2008 #2 Posted January 22, 2008 Great looking bike Buddy. As for coming to meets on the marble, you won't be the first to not ride a Venture, and definitely not the last. Haven't you heard....once a Venturerider, always a Venturerider? !!!!! Congrats on the new bike!!! Wife says I have to wait until my shoulder and arm are completely healed before I can get my new bike. Sure do miss my 06!!!!!

86er Posted January 22, 2008 #4 Posted January 22, 2008 That is a pretty bike! Almost as pretty as a blue Venture. Congratulations on the new ride! I'm sure you will love it. It appears that the Popeye Virus can lead to another medical disorder from which I, and many members here, suffer: MBD (Multiple Bike Disorder)! Maybe we should start an MBD support group..........Oh wait, we already have that, called VR.O!
Squeeze Posted January 22, 2008 #5 Posted January 22, 2008 The Rats are leaving the sinking Ship ... :rotf: Just kiddding, congrats on your new Ride, i hope you get as much pleasurefull Miles out of it as the Venture has given you. Hey Tood, i like the MBD Acronym...
Condor Posted January 22, 2008 #6 Posted January 22, 2008 Hey Tood, i like the MBD Acronym... Hello my name is Jack. I suffer from MBD, but with the help of MBDAA I've been able to deal with it. Someday perhaps when the medical industry discovers a cure, I'll be free of the desease, but until then, with the help of MBDAA, I'll learn to live with it.....

DragonRider Posted January 22, 2008 #10 Posted January 22, 2008 At least I was faithful to the brand and bought a Star...........so do I qualify? Guess we need to make a patch for that too..........:cool10: That is a pretty bike! Almost as pretty as a blue Venture. Congratulations on the new ride! I'm sure you will love it. I asked if I could still be a member & was told this org is a lifetime comittment, even owning a scoot is 'optional'...."Blood IN, Blood Out, and don't even 'try' to leave, etc. Honestly...I really was looking for a 99-00 RSV, but just ran into this Wing at a price I couldn't pass on....Really. Not a lot of choices out there for us poor folk. Well, I guess I'll be seeing you clowns when the weather clears. The Wing will still have the Popeye decal on the RH saddlebag [some things will never change].

buddy Posted January 23, 2008 Author #16 Posted January 23, 2008 Thanks guys, I just could not turn down this deal, 700.00 below book and free shipping just could not past it up. Popeye I too was looking for RSV but could not find one in my price range as well. When money is tight you have to take what you can get but since I always wanted a Gold Wing it was a blessing. I will post some new photos when the bike comes in Saturday. P.S. when we're in Eureka Springs you guys will have to wait up on me, because everybody knows nothing runs like a Venture. buddy

P.S. when we're in Eureka Springs you guys will have to wait up on me, because everybody knows nothing runs like a Venture. buddy Buddy No need to worry about riding behind the Ventures alone. You can ride with us & probably a few others who are looking for a TOURING scoot this time of year. There are just too few choices in the touring class, so some Wings will find there way into our group. If someone wants more than a high maint. two-banger, they must decide between a Venture or a Wing [or those 1200 Kaws that seem to be everywhere & cheap]. To me, the VR was more fun to ride than the Wing I had before it, but I can adjust between the two. The guy who bought my VR tried a Wing, but didn't like it. He's not on a tight budget, but wanted a 1st Gen VR. I find them quite interchangable. Both are great scoots, but toss in a very good price.....

It is so sure footed and the suspension is so different.....an in-experienced rider feeling his wheaties could easily push it to the crash point.......the wing is sure footed.....just do not lean it past the balance point.......you will see......it will surprise you.
Guest Popeye Posted January 23, 2008 #19 Posted January 23, 2008 My post: "No need to worry about riding behind the Ventures alone. You can ride with us..." I was making a joke. You will know why once you twist the throttle on that six cylinder, 1520cc, made to move, beast of comfort. If you find yourself in the rear, it will be because you chose that position. Take a few easy-going day trips to get used to the differences. As good as it is as a road bike, it is still not a sport bike. Also, Kit is very correct about the suspension & handling on the twisties.
