Trader Posted August 31, 2012 #1 Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) Trying to catch up to Yammer Dan....but none of them are blue! Going to drive 6 hours each way to pick up these 2 bikes. Getting both of them for $1500. 1984 Yamaha Venture Royale in good condition needs 2nd gear replaced but can still be driven or for parts. 1985 Yamaha Venture in good condition has a 1300cc motor from a 1989 venture so no 2nd gear issues, runs and rides excellent. Also have another running 1200cc motor Edited August 31, 2012 by Trader I'll try to install bigger pictures!!!!!!
XV1100SE Posted August 31, 2012 #2 Posted August 31, 2012 Where are you going to pick them up? 6 hours put you in our neck of the woods or Quebec ! That puts you at 4 ? Only 2 away to Yammer Dan's #. Let the competition begin !
Trader Posted August 31, 2012 Author #3 Posted August 31, 2012 Gotta go north of Huntsville. Sundridge camping at Little Kup campground near Burk's Falls Tomorrow night and Sat night. I'll be in the cage of course...with a borrowed trailer. That will be 5 of these beasts within the last 2 years! Worse than drugs!
Marcarl Posted August 31, 2012 #4 Posted August 31, 2012 My 85 could use some engine cover inserts,,, I'm just saying, and wishin
Marcarl Posted August 31, 2012 #5 Posted August 31, 2012 Next I see a bigger garage, best get started on the footing and foundation soon, I hear it takes about a year to get that done,, after that though, it's a piece of cake, unless you decide to go sliding.
saddlebum Posted August 31, 2012 #6 Posted August 31, 2012 The seat on that blonde looks custom made for a guy with short legs. I know someone who would most likely be interested if you were to decide to part with it.
mini-muffin Posted August 31, 2012 #7 Posted August 31, 2012 They are just like potato chips you can't have just one. Margaret
Trader Posted August 31, 2012 Author #8 Posted August 31, 2012 My 85 could use some engine cover inserts,,, I'm just saying, and wishin Carl....you know I love you....but NO! I need em too! Boy...the vultures are circling already and I haven't even picked them up yet!
Pegasus1300 Posted August 31, 2012 #9 Posted August 31, 2012 Pretty bikes both of them and a good price too. I don't remember the 85s coming in blond tho.I thought that was only 83VR and 87 5th anniversary?
DragonRider Posted August 31, 2012 #10 Posted August 31, 2012 Yeah they are addicting, I will adding a 93 to my stable, but it has 3 wheels......cant wait for it to get here....................Now where do I park them all, something is going to have to sit outside in the weather, guess the old lawn tractor is loosing its home!!!!!!!!! And some of the junk in the garage has to go too............dang.........I guess the go kart goes out with the lawnmower.................maybe there will be enough room then.
Trader Posted September 3, 2012 Author #11 Posted September 3, 2012 The 85 is the black with burgundy the 84 is the blonde The 85 has a engine from an 88 He had 2nd gear issues early on so he switched engines...I got the 85 low milage engine as part of the deal...but like I said 2nd is gone. SO.....I'll be selling the 85 (with 88 engine). It's a standard but has a stereo with a "bubble cover". I'll post pictures when I'm ready to sell it.
Mel Posted September 3, 2012 #12 Posted September 3, 2012 Pretty bikes both of them and a good price too. I don't remember the 85s coming in blond tho.I thought that was only 83VR and 87 5th anniversary? I think the blonde is the '84 VR. I rode one like it until 2004.
