What is under the front left side lower leg cowling? I know there is a vacuum actuator pump for the crusie control but I do not know what else there is. I need to know this becouse mine was ripped off (along with part of my leg) by a car.

WOW, I'm almost afraid to ask. We wish you the best on your recovery. Very sorry to hear about your mishap. Glad to hear you are around to talk about it. I know that the cruise control actuator , a horn and some electronics is behind the left cowl. I've never had mine off but I looked in my Clymer's manual and that stuff was all in there. There must be quite a bit more in there because it looks packed with stuff. I wish you the best and keep in touch. Brian

I leg is healing SLOWLY. Doc said my foot will never be the same. Wife want me to sell the bike, but thats not going to happen. Thanks for your consern and help with the cowling. If anybody take there cover off I would like a picture of where everything goes. I have the Yamaha book but it does not show a picture of anything under there. Thanks again

What you can do for a start is on your computer type in Yamaha OEM Parts. This will give you a good selection of OEM shops that sell parts, use their search bar tool and put in you model and year bike.......on the OEM parts lists the general illustrated parts breakdown of the cowling and parts withing are listed under the Heading of Cowling number Two. I checked both yamaha parts and I think Derby cycles.....both under OEM shows the cowlings and parts inside under the this heading.......Cowling number Two.

Hope you foot gets better.........no I would not give up my bike either, just rig up a sling out of duct tape and go for a ride......
