wes0778 Posted August 28, 2012 #1 Posted August 28, 2012 Looks like I may need to reinforce the mounting braces..... The good news is the $0.01 XXL cover will cover the sidecar too.
54chevybelair Posted August 28, 2012 #2 Posted August 28, 2012 Do you know what bent or did a clamp slip on the frame? I hope you didn't damage your paint.
MikeWa Posted August 28, 2012 #4 Posted August 28, 2012 All that just to save a few bucks on a cover? Mike :rotf:

wes0778 Posted September 9, 2012 Author #11 Posted September 9, 2012 BFH and a welder.......... Nah, son in law that works at a metal fabrication machine shop!
wes0778 Posted September 12, 2012 Author #13 Posted September 12, 2012 Got the bracket back late this afternoon Maybe this won't bend!!! :cool10:
OB-1 Posted September 13, 2012 #14 Posted September 13, 2012 Back in the early 80's I had sidecar rig for hauling the kids. Our rig used a pair of tube style turn-buckles to anchor the high side and set the lean angle. These things never flexed or bent. Your new arrangement is certainly stronger than before, but the flat bar can still flex and may eventually bend.
Eck Posted September 13, 2012 #15 Posted September 13, 2012 Maybe this won't bend!!! :cool10: Appears the weakest point now is mid-center between the (4) holes on the long end...
