GolfVenture Posted August 25, 2012 #1 Posted August 25, 2012 Anyone have an approximate idea how much value of a bike is gained or lost for every 10,000 miles on the speedo? For example a 1991 VR with 10,000 miles vs one with 50,000 miles. And assuming if the two VR are identical in accessories and upgrades.
Trader Posted August 25, 2012 #2 Posted August 25, 2012 For sure it would affect the value...but hard to quantify. I've never heard of a set value of $X per 10,000 miles Might be a case of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"
BOO Posted August 25, 2012 #3 Posted August 25, 2012 Well I have always believed that an old bike with low mileage is worse than a newer bike with a lot of miles-- to a point-- I would have no problem buying a 1st or 2nd generation bike with 100,000 miles of course for the right price. I think mileage does effect the price but not to much. The guy with the very low mileage bike thinks he will get a fortune for it but that's not always the case. I'm not sure there is an answer here or not. LOL BOO
