dacheedah Posted August 24, 2012 #1 Posted August 24, 2012 http://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=1039&pictureid=6985I mounted my Stebel in front, I made a bracket from scrap that mounts above ( I slid it behind) my driving light bracket. I did run a clear hose on it and will in the future find some chrome plumbing and bend it up and run it into the fairing to keep dirt and moisture out of the horn. http://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=1039&pictureid=6986 http://venturerider.org/forum/picture.php?albumid=1039&pictureid=6984
etcswjoe Posted August 24, 2012 #2 Posted August 24, 2012 Looks great let us know if the weather effects it.
calperin Posted August 24, 2012 #3 Posted August 24, 2012 I left my stebel on the side, the high tone inside the left lower fairing but add two baron horns on the front. I was tired of drivers that didn't pay attention on bikes... btw, Brackets can be order to Carbon One, he 's the best for those details...
djh3 Posted August 28, 2012 #5 Posted August 28, 2012 I mounted mine on the bottom of the left side leg fairing where one of the OEM horns was.
Seaking Posted August 28, 2012 #6 Posted August 28, 2012 I had to take the fairing off the bike today to install some more gear under the hood and took the opportunity to find out if the fairing muffles the horn by a large or small margin when the stebel horn is installed under the fairing.. and the results were interesting.. Using two different apps on the iPhone that measures db levels, I testing the loudness of the horn with the fairing on and with it off.. and the difference was only 1 db at 50 yards according to those two apps.. not much of a difference really, the only difference I could perceive was in the tone of the horn being covered or not covered by the fairing.. I'd have to say that you're not giving up 'loudness' when tucking the horn under the front fairing.. however, like everything else, YMMV.. Cheers
