VentureYZ Posted August 23, 2012 #1 Posted August 23, 2012 Been trying to contact Earl with no luck. Just wandering if everything is OK. Mike Allen
tomfromhull Posted August 23, 2012 #2 Posted August 23, 2012 I talked to him about three Sundays ago.
reddevilmedic Posted August 23, 2012 #3 Posted August 23, 2012 i havnt heard lately, i know he was getting ready to move....
etcswjoe Posted August 23, 2012 #4 Posted August 23, 2012 I got an e-mail from him Sunday, I was using his shim kit and tools and forgot how much I was supposed to insure them when I returned them.
Cougar Posted August 23, 2012 #5 Posted August 23, 2012 He doesn't seem to email back to well sometimes. So I gave up
lsutley Posted August 23, 2012 #6 Posted August 23, 2012 Just received a stator upgrade kit from Earl. We shared a few PM's back and forth and he referenced posts on this site for help. Sent a starter rotor to Dano for modification and will do the entire job later in the year. Both Dano and Earl are top notch in my book.
Snaggletooth Posted August 23, 2012 #7 Posted August 23, 2012 The last time I talked with him was 7/30 and he had just closed on his new place. He was scrambling to get moved and working on plans to get his mill moved into the new place so he could get back to speed on his stuff. So I'm sure he's been a bit busy. Mike
mag1101 Posted August 23, 2012 #8 Posted August 23, 2012 I've been trying to reach him too but with no luck. I know he was getting ready to move soon. I saw his new place a few weeks ago when I was up there for a carb sync..It's very nice. I hope he's ok.
spitfire9 Posted August 23, 2012 #9 Posted August 23, 2012 "Met" him on the phone a couple weeks ago. Very nice, informative guy. Thew info at me I had no idea to even ask for. Hope everything is good and you're just busy Earl.
jdross440 Posted September 9, 2012 #10 Posted September 9, 2012 I emailed him about a stator that apparently has failed after 3 months (low votage on one output wire -half of other 2 wires-and only 11.9 VDC max at 4K RPM. Waiting to hear back from him.
Trader Posted September 9, 2012 #11 Posted September 9, 2012 Earl was on the site last night at 12:40 am
cecdoo Posted September 9, 2012 #12 Posted September 9, 2012 Was hoping he would show up at the Creamery today, looking forward to seeing him:think: Craig
reddevilmedic Posted September 10, 2012 #13 Posted September 10, 2012 i know he wont be happy to hear about another stator failure....
jdross440 Posted September 11, 2012 #14 Posted September 11, 2012 This morning it was 55 degrees. It was putting out 13.5 volts until about 10 miles (when bike got warmed up), then it fell on it's face and dropped to 11.5 max-at 4K rpm. I have a digital voltmeter connected. Factory meter was showing down between 12 and yellow mark. Still haven't heard from Earl.
jdross440 Posted September 17, 2012 #15 Posted September 17, 2012 I still haven't been able to get in contact with Earl (Skydoc17) about my defective stator.
jdross440 Posted September 20, 2012 #17 Posted September 20, 2012 I have given up on hearing from him and just ordered a new stator from Rick's as I need to get the bike back on the road.
KIC Posted September 20, 2012 #18 Posted September 20, 2012 This thread explains the problem: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=73425
