spear Posted January 21, 2008 #4 Posted January 21, 2008 It's PLUS 30degC (84degF) here and we just had half an inch of rain. I'm in shorts and tee-shirt about to sit in the back yard and have a beer with my 2 dogs. CAN'T BEAT THAT!
Marcarl Posted January 21, 2008 #5 Posted January 21, 2008 No wonder it's so cold here, it's all dropping down from the zooo. Why don't you guys turn on the heat a bit, you too cheap or what? But then it's only -14 so I guess it'll be alright, Rain forcast for the weekend.

Missionary Rider Posted January 21, 2008 #11 Posted January 21, 2008 It's 24 degrees right now. Had a great 150 mile ride Friday (38-43 degrees) and a Patriot Guard ride yesterday (50 miles at 33 degrees). Brenda and I planning a 100 mile ride later this AM at about 30 degrees. Wednesday - Friday we plan on riding to North Alabama and back (700 miles). The forecast is for highs in the low 40's. Thank you Mr. Gerbing! Lynn
Mariner Fan Posted January 21, 2008 #12 Posted January 21, 2008 These hat's are the bomb for cold weather! Looks dorky, but my bald head is nice and warm.... http://images.cabelas.com/is/image/cabelas/s7_901323_renderset_01?$main-Large$
Buzzard1 Posted January 21, 2008 #13 Posted January 21, 2008 It's -33 C without the wind Are you still trapped in the SUV????----Buzz
Trondomatic Posted January 21, 2008 #14 Posted January 21, 2008 Only -3 C (26F) this morning so no problem riding to work. But yeah, the lack of snow and ice helps. Stay warm out there eastern brothers! trond
vmax thumper Posted January 21, 2008 #15 Posted January 21, 2008 Periods of snow. High near 13. Wind chill values as low as -5. East wind between 3 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible. Getting know my snowblower quite personally this year!
Guest Popeye Posted January 21, 2008 #16 Posted January 21, 2008 We hit a new record low of -6*F two nights ago. Supposed to snow this p.m. Last Thurs night, all the highways & turnpike around here were abandoned due to ice/snow storm. I had to shovel my long, uphill driveway so my new scoot could be delivered on Wed. Delivery truck couldn,t make it up the hill to my drive, though...he had to get a tow. This used to be normal when I lived way up north [most of my life]. Global warming will be back this Summer, though.
Sailor Posted January 21, 2008 #17 Posted January 21, 2008 Had a real cold snap last night. got down to -2c but now up to 0c (32F). Not a cloud in the sky so will warm up during the day and probably down to 0c again tonight.
PEIslander Posted January 21, 2008 #18 Posted January 21, 2008 Was -20 C here this morning and supposed to stay cooold all week. A week ago yesterday I had the bike out for an hour it was -2 that day but sunny and the roads were clear.
SilvrT Posted January 21, 2008 #19 Posted January 21, 2008 Had a real cold snap last night. got down to -2c but now up to 0c (32F). Not a cloud in the sky so will warm up during the day and probably down to 0c again tonight. I was so tempted yesterday to get a 1 day permit and go for a ride....had other commitments tho but it's sure nice to see this sunshine eh! Reading the other posts, I'm sure there will be some chuckling when we refer to a cold snap as being minus 2 LOL heck, I laff at myself coz most of my life has been in much colder climates but now that I've been "climatized" to the west coast, minus 2 is COLD!
spear Posted January 22, 2008 #20 Posted January 22, 2008 Had a cooler sort of a day here today. Only got up to 28degC. That's 82degF. Might ride to work tomorrow - in shirt sleeves!
86er Posted January 22, 2008 #22 Posted January 22, 2008 Yesterday morning at 9:00 it was 22f with 70 to 80 mph winds! Of course the winds were because I was riding my bike on the highway!
Mariner Fan Posted January 22, 2008 #23 Posted January 22, 2008 It warmed up just enough for the snow to fall. Guess the cold is on it's way back.
