SARNA66 Posted August 18, 2012 #1 Posted August 18, 2012 I put on a new 404 today on the front---WOW--- what a diff settled down my groove following, handling etc.. However still a slight high speed wobble, and when slowing down if i let go for a sec wobble wobble none of my other bikes have done this.
saddlebum Posted August 18, 2012 #2 Posted August 18, 2012 Check the bead line around the rim and make sure it has settled into the rim proper and true all around and equal on both sides
KIC Posted August 18, 2012 #3 Posted August 18, 2012 My 89 is smooth and I can let of the handle bars at any time and it goes straight. One of the few bikes I have owned that is so smooth and straight. Good luck on your issue.
Yammer Dan Posted August 18, 2012 #4 Posted August 18, 2012 Tire pressure at at least 40 lbs? Condor sells the fork brace that seems to help. 404s not pick of tires.
DragonRider Posted August 18, 2012 #5 Posted August 18, 2012 Those things are junk.........I had them on my Venture when I bought it, switched to Venom, then I added the V Star 1300 to my garage, 404 on the rear, didnt get 7000 miles out of it, junked that tire and now on Shinko, got 10,000 + miles on it, getting it replaced with another Shinko. Dunlop changed the compound of the 404 to a softer one and ruined the mileage on them.
SARNA66 Posted August 19, 2012 Author #6 Posted August 19, 2012 thanks guys, note taken I will make the change during winter (REFURBISH)
