rounce Posted August 16, 2012 #1 Posted August 16, 2012 I have a new to me 87 venture royale that my wife will not let me ride! SO I am looing to get a side car or trike kit for it. I see there is one for sale in Huntsville. Any suggestions on having a look? And getting it up to northern north dakota? Anything else available ( Nearer? ) Harvey
Guest tx2sturgis Posted August 16, 2012 #2 Posted August 16, 2012 If she wont let you ride it, why would you spend money on it and still not be able to ride it? One more wheel wont really make it 'safer'...just different...

cabreco Posted August 16, 2012 #4 Posted August 16, 2012 I have a new to me 87 venture royale that my wife will not let me ride! Harvey Harvey! You DID NOT just put that in writing? http://mob564.photobucket.com/albums/ss88/SilentWolf8979/Smileys/smiley-angry009.gif?t=1249563691
rounce Posted August 16, 2012 Author #5 Posted August 16, 2012 As for riding the royale, with one more wheel on the ground will help me out with strength and balance! I am going to check out the one in Grande Prairie. I checked with Norm in Regina and he wanted to sell the package without breaking it up. Thanks a lot guys. Keep it up! Harvey:mytruck1:
Snaggletooth Posted August 16, 2012 #6 Posted August 16, 2012 I've seen this problem before. Yep. Just a misunderstanding of terms used.

Dragonslayer Posted August 16, 2012 #8 Posted August 16, 2012 I believe Barend has a hack he is not planning to install on his new bike. He did have it mounted on his MKI. You might give him a PM. Or, you could get that wife problem fixed. I'm not sure which one would be cheaper.
bongobobny Posted August 16, 2012 #9 Posted August 16, 2012 Tri Wing still makes a trike kit specificaslly for the 1st Gen Venture. It will set you back $6000 plus paint and you have to do it yourself...
lsutley Posted August 16, 2012 #10 Posted August 16, 2012 I have been looking at one on ebay that is in South Dakota. This a Motorvation Formula II that is nearly identical to the one I have on my 86. They are a great car with a lot of room. They are still produced in Sibley Iowa and parts and information are readily available. One good feature is that the Formula II provides a wide wheelbase and it is a heavy car. Both features are helpful to a new sidecar pilot; less chance of lifting the car and they track well. There is a link below to the ebay listing. Good luck!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Formula-II-sidecar-/140825401827?hash=item20c9d919e3&item=140825401827&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr
rounce Posted August 17, 2012 Author #11 Posted August 17, 2012 Thanks for ALL the suggestions. All taken under consideration! I did some bidding on sidecar in ND and it went up faster than a hot air balloon! I'll keep an eye on it anyway. Harvey
