DeArman Posted August 12, 2012 #1 Posted August 12, 2012 Would anyone out there in VR world happen to have the dimensions for lowering links? I'm fabricating my own and looking to make the job a bit easier! I'm trying to get away from a lot of scrap metal by the trial & error method.... It'd be great if ya could help a fellow VR out!!! -Greg
DeArman Posted August 12, 2012 Author #3 Posted August 12, 2012 The link you sent took me to Ventuers tech library but they were raising the bike, not lowering it. I do thank you for the help, though!! So your badge says "Crew Chief"?? F-15CC from '90-'96, Eglin AFB!!! HOO-RAH!!!!
darthandy Posted August 12, 2012 #4 Posted August 12, 2012 The lowering kits normally come with a new bracket for re-locating the brake caliper. You may want to check that out before starting anything. Have a look at this link: http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/rear-lowering-kit-yamaha-royal-star/part/BA-7504-00 Andy
djh3 Posted August 12, 2012 #5 Posted August 12, 2012 OOPS I only read as far as he said something about "lowering" and was refering to the Barrons kit. But I just so happened to be in Home Depot today and the flat strap aint real expensive. You could sort of use his dimensions for rasing and reverse and lower it the 1/2 or whatever and make a pair. I can see if you lowered the 1 1/2" like the Barrons you probably run into interfearence problems. 1/2-3/4" probably not. Yup crewed C141a and B models in Oklahoma. Good ole jet.
