Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Dedicated to my Tessie of 15 years. Thank you for your unconditional love and dedication my beloved pet.

Thank you. Well said and I know where you are at right now. I have seen so many of my closest friends leave here and go to Rainbow Ridge. I only hope that I am worthy to be there with them later. I now am down to five rescue dogs and hope that they out live me.

Boomer, we are very sorry at the loss of your friend. It is amazing how important our four legged furry friends are to us...they are so much more than pets!

Thank you for those lovely words Boomer! Like others, been there, done that! My pet is getting up in years so I savor every day I still have him.

Yes, they do become family, I feel so very sorry for your loss!

That was beautiful Boomer. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. A dog's love is unconditional as you have said.

There is nothing to compare to that special friendship that you have shared with that special pet.

I hope your pain eases as the days go by. I too have known that feeling. Take care Boomer, we are all thinking of you.

Chief,

Very sorry to hear of your loss, the love you get from an animal, particularly a dog, is one of God's best gifts. Please know that your sorrow is felt by many, and we know what your going through. All the best my friend, love you Bro....

Hey BoomerCPO we are sorry to hear of the loss of your dear and special friend and companion. Your right my friend, they will be waiting for us with tails all awaggin and tongues likkin the tar out of us when we show up. Until that day I hope your heart remains filled with that special love only a dog can give and your memories of her soothe your pain.

Sitting here looking at my 11 yr old Golden, made me tear up. Sorry for your pain and I know you are right about that reunion day. God surely wouldn't create heaven without our best buddies to share it with us.
