Tkosanic Posted August 9, 2012 #1 Posted August 9, 2012 What spark plugs are the best to use in an 83. If it matters the YICS has been disabled.
venture83_98 Posted August 9, 2012 #2 Posted August 9, 2012 I always use ngk dpr8ea-9, stock #4929, get them at autozone, about 2 bucks a piece.

van avery Posted August 9, 2012 #4 Posted August 9, 2012 Might check out the following thread. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/archive/index.php/t-27670.html I used Autolites 4163s on the last change and haven't noticed any real difference. They do recommend buying them at an auto parts store rather than Walmart. Seem the second hand one seem to end up at discount stores more often...
pmelah Posted August 10, 2012 #5 Posted August 10, 2012 thanks for that info im about to go buy plugs to do a tune up on my 84 and a set for my 99rstd which still has factory original plugs in the 84 i dont know what it has yet

Tkosanic Posted August 10, 2012 Author #8 Posted August 10, 2012 Is there any advantage to using the iridium NGKs vs the standard NGKs
