Forty nine here and counting. Is twenty to young ? Why no, you got the bike of a lifetime. Enjoy it until you are also forty nine.

I was born on the 4th July, 1959.

 

I am 53.

Age is only a number.There are days I feel 20 again then days I feel 80.But what is most amazing to me is when I get to go have my therapy by throwing my leg over my bike and starting it up I am not an old man anymore.But also at age 55 my riding style has changed drastically from my young and dumb and bulletproof days.My son is 22 and first thing he said after riding my RSV is Wow that will be my next bike ,so he now owns a 03 Midnite Venture and loves it.I have been asked when will you give up riding and the answer is when I cannot get on it and feel safe holding it up,then I will trade it for a trike.

My favorite "move" is to wave at those HD guys with my throttle hand. Ah, the joys of cruise control!

 

 

 

Old?!?!? well, i guess so.. prefer to think of myself as experienced or seasoned..

 

my favorite Venture "trick".. cruising down the freeway at 70 - 75mph in 4th gear as we come alongside an HD rider or two. Give'm a little wave (or tip my coffee cup at'em), slide into 5th gear and motor away...

 

AZ speed limit is often 75...

I know this is an old thread but I'm new here. Age 63 just bought a 89 Venture Royale. Didn't buy for me but so the wife will get on the bike with me. What do I normally ride? I ride an 83 Yamaha Maxim XJ750K. That bike goes like a bat out of hell and when you shift gears it pushes you back in the seat like an Italian sports car. You are only as old as you feel and riding the Maxim makes me feel twenty again.
