FROG MAN Posted January 20, 2008 #1 Posted January 20, 2008 Now I remember why I sold the Vmax. I used to ride a bonneville to high school. I'm thinking get that cabin up on the other side of the creek. Then a garage and one of these. http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2006models/2006-Triumph-RocketIII-Classic.htm
spear Posted January 20, 2008 #2 Posted January 20, 2008 Sorry Gerald. You're on your own there old son. Too ugly for me. Looks like a car missing 2 wheels.
oldandcrotchety Posted January 20, 2008 #3 Posted January 20, 2008 I like the looks of the touring version of that bike. Of course I much prefer the looks of the new "classic" design bikes from Triumph. They look so much like the '60s bikes, and I liked the looks of them the first time around. HOWEVER, I purely hope they have improved the mechanics and especially the electrics on the new ones. I rode them in the 60s (along with others) and I remember why I quit riding them. They shook worse than a Harley, and leaked about the same and were frequently shedding small parts along the highway. And the electrical system was so bad that I was afraid to ride at night for fear of losing some or all of the lighting. But, if they have addressed those issues, then I wouldn't mind having a new one myself.
MAINEAC Posted January 20, 2008 #4 Posted January 20, 2008 Here's the new 2008 tourer: 2008 Triumph Rocket III Tourer I really like the Rocket but I also like these: 2008 Victory Vision Tour The FXLiner I got a while to think about it and let the MFGs get the bugs out.
Squidley Posted January 20, 2008 #5 Posted January 20, 2008 My friend has an '06 Rocket III...and it is a behemouth. I personally dont like it, but it does go like hell. I'll keep my RSV as the preferred touring machine, nothing else fits me as well as it does
