Blusees Posted January 19, 2008 #1 Posted January 19, 2008 So I have lived in a mobile home park for the last few years and really decided it was time to get out and make the big plunge to buy a house. I was especially motivated when two weeks ago some folks that I assume to be ex or current hispanic gang members (due to their tattoos) moved in next door. I had already been approved for financing, but I suppose I just was a little scared to take this big step. That is, until I found the PERFECT house. I put in an offer Thursday morning, there was another offer that came in by noon, I put in a counter-offer and I got it! Folks, this house is perfect for me. It has a cottage-feel and would be entirely inspiring creatively. It has a two car heated garage - PERFECT for my pottery studio, and also storing the bike! The yard is already fenced in. So basically Bogie and I could move right in and be perfectly happy, warm, and safe. Now, I still have to go through the inspection process so I'm hoping nothing horrible turns up with that. I've attached some pictures of it!
Freebird Posted January 19, 2008 #2 Posted January 19, 2008 I love it. It is certainly one that I would have been attracted to. I'm sure you will be very happy and I am very happy for you.
VTirelli Posted January 19, 2008 #3 Posted January 19, 2008 Good for you Courtney!! Hope everything else goes well and you're in your new house soon.
nelsontoddpa Posted January 19, 2008 #4 Posted January 19, 2008 Congrats! It looks like a beautiful home. I took the same steps about a year ago and purchased an older home with character as well- but my woodwork isn't nearly as nice as yours! I'm sure you will love it thoroughly
juggler Posted January 19, 2008 #5 Posted January 19, 2008 Congrats girl. That is a wonderful house. I love all the wood work inside. Now your going to have to host a "House Signing" meet and eat.
Tom Posted January 19, 2008 #6 Posted January 19, 2008 Very nice place..Next question...Are we gonna have a meet and eat at your place? I will bring some BBQ from Texas! Tom

Black Owl Posted January 19, 2008 #10 Posted January 19, 2008 Now that is one great starter house. Looks like it even comes with a well established rhubarb patch in the back yard. And enough room for two or three tents. Also a great time to buy........... Do the neighbours know what they are in for now???? :rotfl: Congrats............ and looking forward to that housewarming M&E.
1BigDog Posted January 19, 2008 #11 Posted January 19, 2008 So, you were worried about tattooed gangbangers, huh...now you got to worry about tattooed bikers......:rotf: Looks like your making a good move..Good Luck!!

Marcarl Posted January 19, 2008 #17 Posted January 19, 2008 Hey that looks real good, just the kind of house to fit a single lady. Yep got to be a Lady all right, all kinds of shots from the house, and then the most important part, the garage, only one picture. Guess you don't want us to feel tooo jealous do you.
Redneck Posted January 19, 2008 #18 Posted January 19, 2008 Congrats it looks very cozy I hope it live up to your dreams.
Squidley Posted January 19, 2008 #19 Posted January 19, 2008 Nice Job Kiddo!!! That is a very nice looking home, lots of character and right now is an excellent time to buy a house with interest rates as low as they are. The 1st home is a scary thought at 1st, but it is one of the best investments that you can make as your really paying yourself in the long run. I do hope that it all goes to plan and the gangbangers can have the trailer park....Good on ya there lady
IH Truck Guy Posted January 19, 2008 #20 Posted January 19, 2008 Congrats Courtney. It looks great... You will love your first new house that doesn't have wheels.

sarges46 Posted January 20, 2008 #24 Posted January 20, 2008 Good going Courtney! Some famous American once said..."Buy land...they dont make it anymore". Real good advice there. Being a home owner is the best investment to make, thats my opinion anyway!
James Ardrey Posted January 20, 2008 #25 Posted January 20, 2008 Very charming with character that you can't get with newer homes and a picket fence to boot. Congrats! Courtney.
