To me the ultimate ride-new bike!!

Kit, Congrats on the new bike. Last Oct I looked at the wings again to replace my '04 RSV. I have 4 riding buddies with GL1800s and they were really lobbying for me to jump to the Honda. I went to the dealer and looked. I rode my friend's bike and like you mentioned, it had more power and features. But after just a few minutes my legs were cramping from the peg position. I just couldn't make my peace with the comfort of the bike. So I went back to an '07. Maybe when I replace these knees I'll try one again.

Does your wing have the built in GPS? Hope not since you just got your Zumo.

Wish you the best of luck with Wing.

Hey Kit - CONGRATS BRO!! Your gonna love it - two wheels, Honda quality AND a thrill anytime you want it!!!! I have tested the Hondas on several occasions and would LOVE to have one,, my problem is MONEY and SPACE and the ability to ride the several scoots I already have.. Concerning the foot placement thought,,, I am 6'1'' barefoot,, have crossed the country many times on everything from DT250 yams to Harley's and I have never had a problem with any of them.. Of course, probably like you,, my feet are all over the place,, up on the bars - on the front pegs - on the rear pegs - stretched out on the blinkers - sitting indian style - standing up,, what ever it takes to get to ride another WONDERFUL mile on two wheels!!! I hope you get zillions of miles of fun on your new scoot and NEVER have to deal with bad dealers - THAT is no fun (dont care what kind of scoot it is - if the dealer aint behind your new purchase and/or you get a lemon it takes the fun out of ownership)!

WE NEED PICS!!

and concerning the giving a 1st genner a run for the money,,,,,, oh yea,, lets see what it does against this R1 I am looking at hahahahha

Yes it has the GPS......that is cool. The zumo will find a place in the work truck.......stuck to the dash with velcro........plugged into the cigarette lighter.........for that occasional place around here I have never heard of. Yea I was fixing Crickett up........even getting a custom light bar chromed that I built.....then got that letter about the rear cylinder gaskets and bolt torque........put the last pin in the balloon.........found my fairing starting to degrade ........already...........one of the Yamaha Dealers calls me last Friday.....hey we are ready to put that clutch basket in.......that was 3 and a half months ago.....just now they are calling me? So the bike and the dealer situation has been a constant fight.....with this particular bike.....and particular area. And under it all.......as one learns.......and becomes aware.......studies and rides more and more.......I simply finally decided to stop trying to save money and just go get the best bike available in the World.....or in my opinion the best one.....as far as reliability and function and the looks are not bad either....not on this one.....when we get done with it about end of next week. .....need to find me someone with airbrush skills and put a gunfighter on the bags.........Yep this is the bike for me.....I have been fighting against it for several years.......finally got caught!!!!

Hi Scott........Okay will put up new photos in what? A week......ten days....bike has been ordered.....then they have lots of chrome to put on it...So may take them a few days for that .......Yes the foot position complaints was a great surprise to me. I had a demonstrator or loaner if you will(called my insurance company and took care of details) for two days. I liked the foot position just fine.......especially around town....you sit straight up and legs down and slightly bent at the knees......perfect position for shifting and rider attention and visibility.........so yep the foot complaints were a surprise to me.....but as you say.......I am on a longer run liable to put my feet anywhere!! Or stand up at the stop and move my back muscles.Been awhile since I have rode indian style...so much traffic now.....interstates so busy........have not done that in awhile......

No not wanting to race the R1 or my sons FJR......those are little hot...quick super fun machines.......can accelerate so fast it will make you lose your hat. I like to ride my sons bike to the store now and again, but do know it would blow my doors off!!

The new dealer experience has been so far wonderful. I have not even got the bike yet and some little girl...PR person is calling me wanting to know how I like the bike......I got tickled at her about that one.......suppose it is on the computer and she just picked up on it......Yes so far......seems to be a very nice place and quality dealer and personel. But this is a Honda Dealer.......a big one........not a powersports situation..... The sales people were a little taken back with me!! I got a good deal.......then when they trotted out the paper work and tried to sell me this and that.....they have like five plans.......including a service the bike contract..........when I told them ........look this bike has a full three year warranty...........covers everything........first service is not till 4000 miles or so........I might or might not bring it to you for that......depends on what the owners manual says and how familiar I get with it.........but I do know how to change the oil...so that extra what? 3 grand they were trying to sell me.........:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:just like at walmart..........go buy a 100 dollar vacuum cleaner......they will sell you a 99 dollar service contract!!

But the dealer is a good one......sure is..........and active.......bay doors open and bikes being serviced , bikes sitting in the lot........showroom full.........you can tell......just like a good restruant is full....and a bad one has three cars.........

Enjoy that R1......stick your hat on with super glue first!!! Kit

Congrats on whatever you ride. When you think about it.....its not what you ride, its just riding... Have fun and be careful. Oh, almost forgot, the new Triump tourer is very very interesting.......lots and lots of horsy's.

Honda makes a nice bike my buddy owns one rode it a few times boy they are nice on the interstate. They are pretty darn fast (my buddy calls it stupid fast) lots of torque down low. They sit fairly low to the ground compared to my first gen. They are nice machines except the foot postition for me I dont like the motor sticking way out. (Prefer the compact V4.) Good luck happy riding.
