I hate "stupid loud". But I do like a low tone rumble. Mellow, understated, low tone rumble. Amd oddly enough my collector is starting to sound like a maraca at certain rpm's and I just recently acquired a set of RK pipes. :innocent-emoticon:

I love the stock sound.

About two years ago I put on a set of Samson straight-through pipes.

Man - what a sound. Put any Harley to shame.

Eventually got sick of the noise so reverted to the originals.

Now I can hear the chirp of the motor, the sat-nav and my phone ringing.

Best thing is the pillion-in-a-million is now more willing to climb aboard.

Actually Pennsylvania has strict decibel thresholds and modificaion rules that if you cross you will be fined.

If your in a state that doesn't have this perhaps you could get something started. Currently Jefferson county is the only county in WV to have a noise level of 65 decibels. I'm going to look into getting it implemented state wide.

Goose, not everyone puts louder pipes on their bikes just to piss off others. Some of us just like the louder pipes. Some love how quiet a Goldwing is and how they look. Personally, I think they not only are too quiet, but look like ass. That's my opinion. Harley's are beautiful bikes, but they are overpriced and not as good in quality as any metric. That's my opinion. I do not like Motto Guzzi's, I think those are an abomination. I think that anyone who puts a car tire on a motorcycle is a complete fool. That's my opinion. Just because you or I or anyone else for that matter has a particular like, dislike or opinion, does not mean everyone should abide by it.This is known as individuality.

"Individuality" is GREAT! I am all for it also and do the "Individuality" thing most every day. :thumbsup2: But I think the issue comes in when/if it is "outside" the laws? :whistling: It may be loud and good to some but is it above the "legal" limit? :confused24: If you look at most deciple ratings it is nearly impossible to make the pipes louder and be legal here in Iowa. But rarely do the LEO's do any thing about it cause most don't have an expensive tool to check them with.

We have machines in our plant that I have to take readings on at a predetermind distance and I can not believe how "loud" just 85 deciples is and then the employees have to wear hearing protection. To me it is not that loud, but to the company it sure is. And then the employees all hate me cause I took the readings? :confused24:

I live close to a train track, the crossing has guarding and lights. Trains come throught at 10:00pm to 12:00pm and blows the horns "what I consider WAY excesive!" I am sure some LOVE the sound of a train horn, but I don't. And if I could move away from it I would. (I swear the enginers X wife lives close by.) :yikes:

And ALL of this is just "My opinion".
