Love them on the GTO! Mike
dacheedah Posted July 18, 2012 #3 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) now you must record a video of it starting and running so we can hear them. Once painted stick some fishtail ends on those puppies Edited July 18, 2012 by dacheedah
Flyinfool Posted July 18, 2012 #4 Posted July 18, 2012 Or better yet take a ride around to this side of the pond so that we can hear them in person.
SilvrT Posted July 18, 2012 #5 Posted July 18, 2012 Some folks will do just about anything to get their 1st gen to sound as good as a 2nd gen...
SilvrT Posted July 18, 2012 #6 Posted July 18, 2012 hmmmmmmmmmm.... (I wonder how those would sound on my Wing?)
Pegasus1300 Posted July 18, 2012 #7 Posted July 18, 2012 I was thinking the same thing for the GW trike. That thing is just toooo quiet.
djh3 Posted July 18, 2012 #8 Posted July 18, 2012 Last set of "glass packs" I mounted on anything lasted like a month before it got ugly loud. Might not be as bad on a bike though. Any reason you didnt use Road King take offs? That seems to be the answer for the Gen 2. Do they still make just the "round" thrush, they were a bit milder in sound. Just looked at their site and it looks like those are no longer made.
reddevilmedic Posted July 18, 2012 Author #9 Posted July 18, 2012 just got back from 2 hr ride. these things hum nicely...not too overbearing at all. nice low grumble. i even noticed better throttle response, especially in 5th gear!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vqywoIpaAc&feature=youtu.be. kinda crappy video, bike is louder in person.
dacheedah Posted July 18, 2012 #10 Posted July 18, 2012 Yep, those painted black with some high heat paint and some fishtails, now thats total awesomeness. . . . ? Do you have any decel popping
djh3 Posted July 18, 2012 #11 Posted July 18, 2012 Not bad from behind. I looked forever for a decent video of the RK muffs on a Gen2. Everything was like this from behind. What gave me a good idea was a guy shot some while riding from the dash or helmet. Then you could tell what it sounded like from the drivers seat. Just an idea. But I will say very ingenious.

jasonm. Posted July 18, 2012 #13 Posted July 18, 2012 reason it runs better in 5th...now you can hear it. And maybe it's "leaned" out a rich condition. FYI...most(50% + 1) of us have carbs that are simply too rich due to wear and the floats sinking...a bit...you can blame ethanol...
