JohnT Posted July 13, 2012 #1 Posted July 13, 2012 (edited) Last Friday my friend Terry went down. No one knows how or why yet. It appears that a very experienced long term rider simply veered off the road and crashed hard. (we do live in serious deer territory) He has a broken leg and collar bone as well as a ruptured spleen and serious kidney damage. He is being kept in a medically induced coma for now. Please folks, be safe out there. As was so rightly pointed out, prayers are better. Edited July 13, 2012 by JohnT Forgot prayers
Eck Posted July 13, 2012 #2 Posted July 13, 2012 Sorry to hear of this bad news that happened to your friend John. Many things could have caused it. Deer as you mentioned, but he could have passed out (diabetic maybe?), or something related to a medical issue. Sure hope he recovers well and finds himself on two wheels again some day soon. Your friend is in our thoughts and prayers
Marcarl Posted July 13, 2012 #3 Posted July 13, 2012 Thoughts are good, but prayer is much better, so prayer will be given as well as those thoughts you are asking for.

JohnT Posted July 20, 2012 Author #13 Posted July 20, 2012 Hey there everyone. While all is not over yet, Terry has been lifted from the induced coma, his spleen is history, the kidneys "should be fine" (one is still suspect), and although the shoulder required surgery all in all he is on the mend. Thank God. He can't remember what happened. All seems to be lost from some point prior to the accident. He basically remembers getting on the bike then waking up in the hospital. Thanks to all the well wishes. Yer a great bunch of folks.
