Eddie Posted January 17, 2008 #1 Posted January 17, 2008 I'm not sure which one he wanted more . They were both put together nice.
Guest Popeye Posted January 17, 2008 #2 Posted January 17, 2008 That one would work well for anyone, no matter who you are.
Squidley Posted January 17, 2008 #4 Posted January 17, 2008 It would seem weird to see him on one of them
Eddie Posted January 17, 2008 Author #5 Posted January 17, 2008 That bike has more room on it than a RSV. Im also looking at this bike. It will grow on you fast. It looks really cool when you take the trunk off.
Squidley Posted January 17, 2008 #6 Posted January 17, 2008 Really?? I would have to see one in person, I really like my G2's...specially when they aren't in pieces
pegscraper Posted January 17, 2008 #8 Posted January 17, 2008 You know, that bike is growing on me. I like it better without the trunk on it too.
Freebird Posted January 17, 2008 #9 Posted January 17, 2008 I've still got mixed feelings about it. Wouldn't mind taking one for a test ride though. Doesn't matter, the finances say NO NO NO.
Orrin Posted January 17, 2008 #10 Posted January 17, 2008 I like it too. But, I am not trading until I find something I like with ABS.
shooter3001 Posted January 17, 2008 #11 Posted January 17, 2008 I checked out the Victory Vision at our local dealer here, where I bought my 07 RSV. The one thing I didn't like about it was, as big as those saddle bags look, there is no room in them. But those drivers floor boards are SWEEEEEEEET. Also I liked how light the bike is. My wife sat on the back seat and then went and sat on the back of the Venture. 4 days later the Venture was in my garage.
DragonRider Posted January 17, 2008 #12 Posted January 17, 2008 Its really your wife saying NO!, No!, No!, I've still got mixed feelings about it. Wouldn't mind taking one for a test ride though. Doesn't matter, the finances say NO NO NO.
Eddie Posted January 17, 2008 Author #13 Posted January 17, 2008 We had a talk about the saddle bags with the rep. They are bigger than they look. The door has a design that holds stuff in place. Plus you can almost go though to the other side. Compared to the 35,ooo Ultra this is a geat bike for 22,000. And hey Don the stereo is great.
Freebird Posted January 17, 2008 #14 Posted January 17, 2008 Its really your wife saying NO!, No!, No!, Finances, Financial Manager......same thing. I'm STILL not getting one.

I've always liked the looks of that machine, but have been telling myself that I wouldn't be happy with it because of the small saddlebags. And now you're trying to shoot that excuse all to pieces. Guess I'll have to fall back to my other excuse......NO STINKIN' MONEY!! :rotf:

Ultras can be had for around 20-23K also...sometimes less.
Guest Thumper Posted January 18, 2008 #17 Posted January 18, 2008 Yep, if you need a big, heavy bike (cause your SO likes to ride along), then that is sweet. I think I still like the classic lines of the Venture better. However, there is nothing like a great ST to keep a smile on your face. Miss you guys and just checking in. I see it has been almost a year since I checked in last. Time flies when your riding fast. Michigan trip again someday, but ya'll are welcome to some southern hospitality anytime you get down here. Thumper BTW - 39K on my 06 FJR now and Maggie just past 43k on her single Blaster. I just tore it down for an oil weep and only thing it needs is a new piston. Amazing what Buell did with a small bike like that.
Eddie Posted January 18, 2008 Author #18 Posted January 18, 2008 Thumper I was just thinking about you guys the other day and was going to send you an email. I still will when I get a few minutes.
Sweetnothing Posted January 18, 2008 #19 Posted January 18, 2008 hey thumper!!! we have missed you and maggie! TRY TO CHECK IN EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE!! come on....more than once a year!! you know...when you get up to michigan, the door is always open for you guys!
Eddie Posted January 18, 2008 Author #20 Posted January 18, 2008 So Mike , still no comment on your new ride. Knowing you as well as I do, I know you can come up with something.
Squidley Posted January 18, 2008 #21 Posted January 18, 2008 Good to see you on again Thumper We do miss you folks here and I have stopped by Mags site from time to time. When we get down that way we'll work on catching up with you folks. Be safe and could you PLEASE send some damn heat up here!
Guest Thumper Posted January 19, 2008 #22 Posted January 19, 2008 We miss everyone. Hard to keep up with all the new members. Don aka Freebird is still king of the Motorcycle forums! Just racking up miles and smiles man. I saw your post on Magsters site and it brought fond memories back. I have said it before and I will say it again: This site has real riders that talk real biker talk. As for us, we are planning our next trip back west this summer. Maggie has never been to Texas so I am contemplating a ride up to the Barber museum in Alabama. Then on to South Dakota again to ride some of the roads we did not get to do last big trip. On down to Texas from there for some BBQ and Lone Star Beer. We only have two weeks this time so this is about all I can squeeze into our vacation. Maybe the next year we will plan another trip to Michigan to see old friends. Ya'll stay in touch cause we think (and talk) about ya'll often. Thumper and Maggie Mae
