tbbrider Posted July 3, 2012 #1 Posted July 3, 2012 Does anyone have after market mufflers on their trike.Tryed for two hrs to put Rk on mine ,would not slide on header far enough. I want a little more sound but not real loud.
Carbon_One Posted July 3, 2012 #2 Posted July 3, 2012 I used my stock mufflers but cut out a 6" section when the angled piece welds on to the tube. Mainly due to the mufflers being too long. The end result was that I got a bit more sound but not so loud to be a distraction. Don't know of any trike specific mufflers thou. Or what mufflers other trike companies use. Larry
jonesy Posted July 3, 2012 #3 Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) I went to the local parts store and told them what I was doing, they gave me a book that had all car mufflers in it by length, inlet-outlet size, position of inlet-outlet, [left-right-center], and looked thur it till I found something to fit in the space I had. I had pipe bent to go around the rear axle then ran them out thur the body. In my case the mufflers were 12 in. long, and flat, kinda of quiet what I perfer. Edited July 3, 2012 by jonesy add picture
bongobobny Posted July 3, 2012 #4 Posted July 3, 2012 Yah! I'm trying to go the other direction myself, want QUIET!!! If it helps you, you want 2" ID inlet. You could try some thrush mufflers or a pair of Cherry Bombs. I'm going with some mufflers 22" long from a Ford Aerostar I think...
