Yama Mama Posted July 1, 2012 #1 Posted July 1, 2012 This past Friday, I went out to pick up a plant that had fallen over, because it was getting a little windy. I noticed it was getting darker, so I went to close Moped's window on his car. We live on a heavily wooded lot. As I turned to go in the garage, I heard a big cracking of wood and then a loud BOOM! As you will see, there were three cars for the tree to land on, and it decided on our son's car. The following photos explain what happened. Yama Mama
GAWildKat Posted July 1, 2012 #2 Posted July 1, 2012 At least the bike's safe? isn't that all that matters? lol Otherwise, glad everyone there is ok.
Freebird Posted July 1, 2012 #3 Posted July 1, 2012 WOW...it had to pick the Mercedes didn't it. At least he wasn't inside it. Could have been much worse.
mini-muffin Posted July 1, 2012 #4 Posted July 1, 2012 Glad it was just the car and not any of you. It can be replaced you can't. Will the insurance cover replacing the car? From those pics I really don't see it being fixable. Margaret
Yama Mama Posted July 1, 2012 Author #5 Posted July 1, 2012 The insurance people will be here tomorrow. The first one Ron spoke to said that we will have to drive it to the auto body shop. Ron said,"Mam I do not think that is possible!", then she said she would have some one come and tow it to the body shop. Ron said,"Mam, I do not think this car is exactly able to be fixed!". Then she said, well we could have some one come to your home and Ron agreed that would probably be the best decision. The Lady asked if any one was hurt and Ron says, not that he is aware of! So now, I am laughing! Then she says, it is a shame about your car, and Ron says, "yes, it was my favorite!" I guess you had to be there. It was sort of a thank God, we are alive event to say the least. We just now got our cable and internet back. You know how I need the internet! Yama Mama
dingy Posted July 1, 2012 #6 Posted July 1, 2012 Better the car than your recently retired self. I think the car took the hit better than you would have. Gary
midnightrider1300 Posted July 1, 2012 #7 Posted July 1, 2012 Glad every1 is ok . And that you can still find humor in some of it.. things can be replaced , lives can't...
playboy Posted July 1, 2012 #8 Posted July 1, 2012 Glad everyone's OK I guess since your retired you will have plenty of time for yard work . What a mess
Venturous Randy Posted July 1, 2012 #9 Posted July 1, 2012 Yeah, I don't think that is going to buff out. RandyA
darthandy Posted July 1, 2012 #10 Posted July 1, 2012 Glad everyone was OK. This could be a chance for some real wild custom work ending up with a strictly four passenger Merc with each passenger having their own little cubicle of car. Just sayin... Andy
Phoneman1981 Posted July 1, 2012 #11 Posted July 1, 2012 Glad no one was hurt. Do not fall in love with anything that cannot love you back. But I have to admit, I laughed when I saw the Mercedes emblem on the trunk lid. Never fails.
Midrsv Posted July 2, 2012 #12 Posted July 2, 2012 Glad to see that Cub Cadet was spared. They don't make them like that anymore.
XV1100SE Posted July 2, 2012 #13 Posted July 2, 2012 Yeah, I don't think that is going to buff out. RandyA Try a little Seafoam. Works wonders on everything else ! Kidding... but sorry about your son's car.
Yama Mama Posted July 2, 2012 Author #14 Posted July 2, 2012 Ok I got the seafoam, ducttape, and rubbing compound. I hope it works! Yama Mama:smile5:
bj66 Posted July 2, 2012 #15 Posted July 2, 2012 I had that happen to a 1 year old Ford pickup once. It was an ash tree, and it felll across the box. I was lucky, didnt get the cab and saved the endgate. It really sucks though....
bongobobny Posted July 2, 2012 #16 Posted July 2, 2012 So, is the plant OK?? Wow, a minute sooner and you would have been too close for comfort...

Yama Mama Posted July 2, 2012 Author #18 Posted July 2, 2012 So, is the plant OK?? Wow, a minute sooner and you would have been too close for comfort... Well the leaves are getting a little yellow thanks for asking. I think it is my underwear I am needing to replace. Yama Mama:crackup:
Yammer Dan Posted July 2, 2012 #19 Posted July 2, 2012 That will probally take a couple doses of Sea-Foam!!! Think what a ridge runner you could make with that....Glad no one was hurt. Hate to see a car like that go.
Grey beard Posted July 2, 2012 #20 Posted July 2, 2012 Glad no one was hurt. I guess you could say that is the way the Mercedes Bends.
gscbertrand Posted July 3, 2012 #21 Posted July 3, 2012 It could be repaired, the difference between a right off and a repair is money. The worth of the vehicle is what matters.
Yama Mama Posted July 3, 2012 Author #22 Posted July 3, 2012 Glad no one was hurt. I guess you could say that is the way the Mercedes Bends. Oh, I like that one! Yama Mama:smile5:
