kmarr Posted July 1, 2012 #1 Posted July 1, 2012 Hi, The wife and I are planning a trip from Buffalo NY to Hopkinsville KY.Any ideas on the route without taking the thruways most of the way. Those of you that have been sort of that route have any suggestions. Thanks Kelly
bongobobny Posted July 1, 2012 #2 Posted July 1, 2012 Well, from the Peace Bridge take the Skyway (NY route 5) west and follow it down to Irving NY. Right where US Route 20 joins it there is an excellent place for gas at the Seneca Hawk gas station. Being on a Native American reservation at that point, there is no tax on the gas, and unlike in Canada they do not care if you are native american or not and there is no "card" involved. From there stay on Rt 20 until you cross into PA and head south instead of west on 20 as once you get into Ohio there are a lot of towns to go thru and it takes forever...
Bob Myers Posted July 1, 2012 #3 Posted July 1, 2012 US 62 to US68. Only two roads you need to know, take you all the way there, roughly 800 miles. May want to hit some interstate around Youngstown, or go through there after 9am and beforelunch! Busybusy.
