What is this motor?

Greetings all,

Just had a look at a review of the 2012 Second Gen and it includes a photo of what is purported to be the motor of the bike.

First time I've heard of an air cleaner for a 2G mounted between the pots.

Who is having a go at whom here, and can anybody identify the motor?

The photo of the motor appears when I click that link. I just had to scroll down a bit. It is NOT the Venture motor though. Somebody screwed up.

I think it is a 650 or possibly an 1100 but it sure ain't a V4.

 

Pretty sure it is a 650 cause I have had a couple of the 1100s.

First I have to admit I have no idea what motor it is...it could be another manufacturer for all I know....BUT.....

 

If you are talking about the picture of the motor on the first page it looks like IT MIGHT be a V-4.

 

You can see that the motor is NOT centered on the frame.

It looks like the barrels are partially outside the frame.

I would think it is a V-4

Maybe someone screwed up and leaked the photo of the NEW 2013 motor......

The engine is a 650 just like the one in my garage.

 

I don't think that Venture is gonna be able to get

 

out of it's own way with that engine.

Yamaha V-Star 650 engine. Its not the 1100, as there's actually slightly less oil filter access on the right side.

Deffineately a V-Star 650 engine in that article. Like Don said somebody screwed up. :rotf:

They still list cassette player as coming on bike.Also list cd player mp3 jack.

I posted a comment on the web page that the engine picture is incorrect.
