Sweetnothing Posted January 16, 2008 #54 Posted January 16, 2008 thank you hugs will be going out to everyone who makes it to don's maintenance day, ant to the international meet in kitchner!! unless you get to the michigan/ontario year end meet and eat. but i'm sure them hugs won't be up to parr yet! but i'm sure i will give it one heck of a try. the pin will come out in about 6 weeks, and i should be much better then!! thanks to everyone for being here for me, and to brad for taking care of me!! he has done a great job of doing the cooking, cleaning and worring about me, but he needs to take care of himself! i feel so useless because i can't do anything for myself! that is the hardest part for me....having people wait on me, and not being able to do it for myself!! i know brad has done everything he can for me, and i know it is very hard for him to watch me go through this, and he can only do so much for me!! he needs to go back to work to get a break from it!! i just want to say....i am so happy to be alive! it could have been so different than it was!! thank you all for the flowers, phone calls, and for being there for us. it makes the healing so much easier!! and last but not least....thank you brad for all you have done to take care of me, and for what you will still have to do!! i owe you one, and i love you!

V7Goose Posted January 22, 2008 #63 Posted January 22, 2008 Thanks everyone... We just got back home as Lonna stayed the night in the hospital and I stayed with her. The surgery was a great success and her bone is back where it was. Now the time to heal begins. I want to that Denden and Vicky for coming to the hospital lat night. It was great to see them and it meant a lot to Both of us. Dennis and I actually got to set down and have a nice talk over some supper. Thank you all again and Lonna will be on in the next couple of days to talk your ears off It's great to hear that all went well and they decided to actually do something for that bone - The only reason I posted my original comment that they did nothing for mine was so you wouldn't be surprised if they said the same thing about Lonna's. I hadn't been through this before, and I thought the first doc was some kind of quack when he said they don't usually do anything for a broken clavicle! Here is a recent picture of mine where you can just see the bone beginning to fill in between the pieces. Hope her pain goes away soon, Goose
Squidley Posted January 24, 2008 Author #64 Posted January 24, 2008 Just an update...Couldn't not show a pic now could I
sarges46 Posted January 24, 2008 #65 Posted January 24, 2008 Gees!! Now somebody please explain how they got that thing in there!?
Yammer Dan Posted January 24, 2008 #66 Posted January 24, 2008 I asked the Doc how he got that one in my leg and he just showed me a arm that looked like Hulk Hogan's.
Sweetnothing Posted January 25, 2008 #67 Posted January 25, 2008 Gees!! Now somebody please explain how they got that thing in there!? rick, from what they tell me, all they did was cut me open from the front, cut and put the bones where they should be. then they drilled a hole thru both parts of the bone, and screwed the pin through from the back of the shoulder. the doctor feels if i heal well, 6 weeks later he can go in and cut the back side open a little bit, and then unscrew the pin, and stitch me up, in a outpatient surgery. i don't really like doctors, but this one seems to know what he is doing!
nance56 Posted January 25, 2008 #68 Posted January 25, 2008 That would be a good thing. At least you have faith in him. I hope all is going as good as can be expected. Tell Brad to take care of himself also. He has to heal too. We'll be seeing you two at Don's maintenance day again. Take care and let us know if we can do anything.
