This is one of the roads we usually ride at The Asheville rally. It now has a name and has photographic coverage my Blind Kenny. If you are ever in western NC this is a must ride. The ride starts in Marion NC and ends in Micaville NC crossing the Blue Ridge parkway.16 miles long with 2000 ft elevation change. If in the area The Diamondback US226a is about 10 miles away.Another must ride.

NC16 from the blue ridge parkway

VA16

WV16 to Beckley, WV

This road is not for the faint of heart. It is one wild ride from the time you leave the parkway until you make it up to Beckley, WV.

Great ride never heard anyone mention it so I thought I would ask. Have you or will you!!??

I just went to Blind Kenny’s site and ordered a couple pictures from 5-26-12 ride on 80. I saw several RSV and Tour Deluxe rode 80 that morning too. I wander if anyone from the site was up there that day.

Just rode the Whip yesterday. Great ride and I think more challenging than the Dragon. Here is a link to the video that I shot on the way back down.

I guess I should have posted that we would be in the area. We rode down to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure for the weekend. Great roads everywhere we went.

We was in Lake Lure today only 20 miles from me.i do the 80, 226a and lake Lure loop almost everyweekend..I live in Marion so all these roads are in my Backyard. You also need to ride 181 from the parkway to Morganton.next time give a yell and i can take you on some other awesome roads in the area.mt mitchell and grandfather Mountain are some breathtaking rides also.couple pix of the ride to top of Grandfather Mountain

I got two pictures, taken by Blind Kenny, on my ride up 80. I will try to up load. They got 6 or 7 shots before I could get around the turn. I had to be really going slow for them to have time to get that many shots.

Will not up load???
