Flash18 Posted June 17, 2012 #1 Posted June 17, 2012 Okay, so I'm wanting a new set of pipes on my bike. Would prefer to go with a full set and not just mufflers. I want something quiet but with a bit throatier of a sound. I could have sworn my last RSTD had Hard Kromes, however after looking at their site, they do not have a specially fitted one for an RSTD. Any suggestions on what I should go with? I have a 2006. Thank you for any advice. Flash
Freebird Posted June 17, 2012 #2 Posted June 17, 2012 I may be wrong because I haven't searched in a long time but as far as I know, BUBS is the only one that makes a full set for the RSV. Not sure if they would work for the RSTD or not but they probably would.
eusa1 Posted June 18, 2012 #3 Posted June 18, 2012 What don says is true, bub sleepers is the only full system on the market, and yes they do fit the rsv and the tour deluxe but require modification to fit the royal star classic
99silver Posted June 18, 2012 #4 Posted June 18, 2012 If its the four muffler system, Chrome Works made them. My spelling may not be correct.
Drkngas Posted June 23, 2012 #5 Posted June 23, 2012 I have the Khrome Werks pipes. Sound great. Throaty and not too loud. http://www.khromewerks.com/ (click on Yamaha)
Kirby Posted June 23, 2012 #6 Posted June 23, 2012 Why would you want to change the headers unless you definately know that someones sells a set that flows better? If it's just the sound you want to change, save the money for something else and slap a set of mufflers on it and go. There's about as many choices of mufflers as there are people that can answer the question. Just how much noise you want to hear is the only thing in considering which to buy. Usually you don't even have to rejet the carbs to change the mufflers.
Flash18 Posted July 4, 2012 Author #7 Posted July 4, 2012 I'm not wanting an entire set up, such as the headers. I do however want new pipes, not slip on mufflers. I'll keep looking around and see what I find. Thanks.
