spotsy Posted January 14, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2008 I read the thread from last August on Avon Tyres. Very interesting comments and suggestions. Thanks to Goose for his great evaluation. I have about 3,000 miles left on the Met's and have decided to switch to Avon's and go with the smaller 130/90 front tire. I checked a few on-line sites and see that Motorcycle Pro Shop is a few dollars less than some of the others. Has anyone used this company or know anything about them? I wouldn't want to get tires that's 2 or 3 years old. Thanks. Spotsy http://www.motorcycleproshop.com/tires/avon.asp
shooter3001 Posted January 14, 2008 Share #2 Posted January 14, 2008 I just ordered a tire from them for my wife's bike. I haven't put it on yet, but I was impressed with thier prices and shipping. I live in Mich. and the tire was here in just a couple of days. I used to buy tires from tiresunlimited.com but Motorcycle pro shop prices are better. spotsy Posted January 14, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted January 14, 2008 Thanks Shooter. What's the date stamped into the side of the tire? That would tell you when it was made. Thanks. Spotsy
Condor Posted January 14, 2008 Share #4 Posted January 14, 2008 South West Moto is another good source for Avons. Buy two and the shipping is free.

DragonRider Posted January 14, 2008 Share #7 Posted January 14, 2008 I ordered my Avons from them before Vogel in 06, and the price was right and the tires still look like new, they have about 8500 miles on them now, likely to go another 8500 before I have to replace them with another set of Avons...........They have good prices and shipping is fairly quick............Even after I had them installed at my local Yama shop I still came in under $300.00 total. I highly reccomend them..........:thumbsup:

spotsy Posted January 25, 2008 Author Share #10 Posted January 25, 2008 FYI all: Just to let you know I did order the Avons from Motorcycle Pro Shop. Took about 4 or 5 days and both were made right around the 40th week of 07. No problems with the purchase and would use them again. I believe they were $246 including shipping.
