JohnMidnight Posted June 12, 2012 #1 Posted June 12, 2012 Replaceable? Repairable? Carb #4 on the Lady lost her's a long while ago, we tired copper tubing and jb and that failed. Any solutions?
dingy Posted June 12, 2012 #2 Posted June 12, 2012 If you are talking about the ones that are for draining the bowl when you open the screw on the carb body, It really don't need to be there as long as you remember if you check the float level it ain't there. I am missing on of mine, and it is going to stay MIA, cause I can't reach in there with the Vboost on it. These are very small rubber tubes that exit on each side of the carb rack. Nothing is going to come out of there unless the drain screw is opened up. If you are talking about the over flow tube that runs out the back of the bike, you should have it on there. Gary
JohnMidnight Posted June 13, 2012 Author #3 Posted June 13, 2012 yea, the float valve tubes that you use to check the float level. Darn. Oh well.
mbrood Posted June 13, 2012 #4 Posted June 13, 2012 If you lost the plastic adapter that the hose fits on, I would think another from a salvage carb should just snap in once you carefully cut it out of the bad one. Outside of that, JB Weld or Liquid Steel are both good candidates but you have to prep both the carb and the copper... both have to have some scratches on them for the compound to grip and a few vertical scratches inhibit rotation while annular prevent shear slippage. I would really try for the salvage carb route!
TEW47 Posted June 17, 2012 #5 Posted June 17, 2012 Dingy, where is the drain screw? I can't find them on my '07. tew47
dingy Posted June 18, 2012 #6 Posted June 18, 2012 Dingy, where is the drain screw? I can't find them on my '07. tew47 Wrong guy to ask about 2nd gens. They are somewhat different than the 1st gens. Goose, Squid, Skydoc, come to mind. I am sure there are others. Gary
